All you can do there now is download the ms access 7 file, but I have big plans. I tried to convert it to dBase, but it would only let me do one table at a time, which kind of defeats the purpose of showing you the relationships. I _could_ print out and fax the diagrams and field listings to people IF they were interested. Check it out. If I don't get any more feedback I'll blunder ahead with putting it online. Let me know if you want to be one of the privleged few who gets to have update access to The Shrine. I'm looking for people who have access to a lot of concert dates and setlists. "The International Flag Book in Colour" by C.F.Pedersen (Blandford Press, London, 1970, 235pp) 853 flags and national badges and arms illustrated in full colour, plus loads of details as to their adoption and symbolism - this is one of the three or four best flag books I have come across. "Flags" by I.O. Evans (Hamlyn, London, 1970, 159pp). In some ways, probably aimed at a younger readership, this still has a lot of information and a lot of full colour flag diagrams. Deals with a few more historical flags that Pedersen. "The dumpy book of ships and the sea" edotir H. Sampson (Sampson Low, London, year unlisted, probably ca. 1956). Although this is primarily a book about ships, it does have black and white (hatchment) drawings of 91 shipping company house flags, 43 coaster company house flags, 9 tanker company house flags, 21 tramping company house flags, 54 ensigns and official flags, 72 yacht club burgees and some of the regulations regarding signal flags. "Boutell's Heraldry". Not strictly a flag book, but one of three very useful guides to heraldry which might prove useful to vexillologists. The other two are: "The Manual of Heraldry", by F.J. Scott (John Grant, Edinburgh, 1952), simple and clear, with details on the right to arms, differencing, the British order of precedence and (most importantly for the flag-fan) a dictionary of Heraldic terms. "A complete guide to Heraldry", by J.P. Brooke-Little (Nelson, London, 1969). An excellent, comprehensive book, this is a fairly recent edition of a book originally published in 1909. Also, the Hamlyn "Flags" listed above mentions several books in it's recommended reading list which have nit yet been mentioned on FOTW. I know nothing of their worth - anyone know anything about them? They are: "British Flags" by W.G.Perrin (Cambridge Univ. Press, London, 1922) "Colours and standards of the Royal Air Force", (HMSO, 1957) "Flags for ship modellers and marine artists", A.A.Purves (Percival Marshall, London, 1950) "Flag of stars", F.Cayley (Rigby, Melbourne, 1966) "Flags over South Africa", R.Gerard (Pretoria Technical College, Pretoria, 1952) "History of the United States Flag", M.M.Quaife (Harper & Row, NY, 1961) "Sea flags: Their general use", Comdr. H.P.Mead (Brown, Son & Ferguson, Glasgow, 1938) "Yacht flags and ensigns", Capt. E.M.C.Barraclough (Iliffe, London, 1951). Well, the 21st is actually a cusp. It could be either Taurus or Gemini. These things vary from year to year, and any time from the 20-22 could actually be the date when the sun moves into the next sign. I suspect that this was where Robyn's hesitation came from- since he knows enough about astrology to know what his rising sign is, he probably knows the dates of the 12 sun signs as well. > >"If he treats you horribly he's probably a scorpio..." > > (Just had to add it.) > > my ex was a scorpio... ahh the wisdom of Robyn... *LOL* I'm seeing one now. I just read Kay's post regarding Robyn's (sudden?) youthful appearance--she thinks he may have had his eyes "done." Egads! Now, I haven't seen Robyn since the November show in Seattle w/ Billy Bragg, but I was right up front, and he looked no different besides having a bit of a gut. Onstage, he announced, "The last time I was here [the Moore Theater] was in 1986. Since then, I've gained 20 pounds and my hair has turned gray." Much laughter from the audience; it was TRUE. I've seen him every year since '88 and I've seen him go from brunette to gray with a few pounds along the way. In '95, when Robyn appeared in a white peasant-looking shirt, he quite resembled Richard Gere in his "Sommersby" role! So, is this "youthful appearance" a sudden thing? I didn't think that intellectual Englishmen even considered plastic surgery (Sting being an exception). I found Kay's post both hilarious & frightening. Happy Birthday to Robyn--didn't he just turn 44? If Kay's suspicion is correct, well, I might want to do the same when I'm 44. The last time I had seen him was in '95 and I wasn't very close to the stage then, but he merely looks greyer. Perhaps he's lost some weight (to account for "youthfulness")? Oh, BTW, the show was FANTASTIC!!! We spoke to him briefly afterward and had a great time. And, yes, Monday was his 44th birthday-the opening band (The Dear Janes: very good) brought out a cake and we all sang "Happy Birthday".
