Hrrumph. Obvious proof that Robyn needs to come here more often. Nashville is a very book-friendly town. In fact, I'll wager that if he ever gets his book of stories published he'll be a welcome guest at our annual Southern Festival of Books which regularly draws 15,000-20,000 folks who don't give a toss if reading is allowed or not--no one is going to stop them--and always features several panel discussions on music and books. Greil Marcus and Pete Guralnick are regulars, plus many lesser-know wits. Would this be an affectionate nickname based his somewhat, um, thuggish (well, that was what my first impression, too, but, after meeting him I realized that he's sweet fellow.) appearance? Just wondering, cause in Nashville, Robyn addressed him and introduced him as Vaughn, and he answered to that name, as well. I'm going to be moving to Bern Switzerland at the end of this month (March) to start a new job so I'm unsubscribing for a bit. But I know however hard I try, my Feg-mania will get the best of me and I shall return again (and again) ;-)) Seriously, I'm gonna be swamped in this last month so I'm off till I get settled. Hopefully Robyn doesn't announce his retirement or something drastic while I'm gone ;-) (great, now I'm starting urban myths ) PS: Are there any Fegs in Switzerland or therebouts (I know there's one in Frankfurt area but that's a bit away). If there are, and you're going to be passing through Bern, give me a shout here at Queen's (this account at Queen's stays active and forwarding after I move over), and maybe we can hook up and have a coffee or something - same thing with Fegs that might be travelling around Europe this summer :-) PPS: Anyone know if RH has ever toured/tours mainland Central Europe (esp. Switzerland) Never heard anyone mention it before (then again I didn't give a care before either ;-)) PPPS: Wanna publically thank everyone who made up the GF CD (esp. Bayard and Mark). It REALLY looks cool (got it last week) and sounds great. And the really neat thing is that all of us who are on it can say we recorded with the famous Vic Chesnutt (err... well sort of ;-)) BTW, anyone know what Vic's thoughts on the rest of our work were? This rudeness thou, possibly confurms a theory Iv been playing with since seeing Robyn at the Storefront filming. 2 In short, folks, our hero has had his eyes done, if not other stuff as well. 3-Proof a His rude reaction to Ken's positive remark. He dosnt come off as a normally rude person--but everybodys rude when they feel defensive about something. b He does look alot younger. I realize Im probobly the only one whose much interested in this thread at all--but I cant help wondering... Did he do it out of pure vanity? or was it a "business" move.? Does he get to write it off on his taxes? And--most importantly of all--will this effect how he symbollically deals with "eyes"in his lyrics? Anyway, if you want copies of these, feel free to email me and I'll add you to my ever growing list. And I WILL get back with you eventually :) Oh yeah, everyone out there...do your bestest best to tape the shows you go too (especially the NY ones...I heard in Athens that the shows are gonna go as such...1st night old RH stuff, 2nd night middle RH stuff, 3rd night new RH stuff, 4th night all covers, 5th night all requests (or something like that...I'm not sure about the order...and again this may only be rumor)).
