We've heard nothing.... this is probably because i have arranges for all tickets--yes, i did call first--to be given to reno, nevada tourists. currently all tickets were given to 40 middle-aged tourists. currently, there are on a bus to the empire state, while stopping at local inidan casinos along the way. needless to say, this will be a very respective crowd for robyn. so sorry i you lost your ticket, but you can imagine the joy of 40 tourists (imagine your mother when you were 30) watching robyn *and* getting on tv at the same time, and yes it will be a tv special and not a film as intended. ta, .chris ------------------------------ From: jlgr@concentric.net Date: Wed, 4 Dec 1996 13:14:14 -0500 (EST) Subject: Addams Family (No Robyn) If anyone can help me this is really important. Chris, you have been most negligent in your arrangements. I think perhaps you should have gotten Wayne Newton to come along and play at some of the stops, as a sort of tribute to Robyn's Isle of Wight bus tour and to get the crowd "warmed up" for the show. > so sorry i you lost your ticket, but you can imagine the > joy of 40 tourists (imagine your mother when you were 30) Huh? I'm not 30 yet. I guess I'll have to imagine my mother in 5 years, though I don't think she'll be substantially different at that point (I think she'd still rather see Johnny Mathis than Robyn and this would have been true for her at the age of 30 as well :)). > watching > robyn *and* getting on tv at the same time, and yes it will be a tv > special and not a film as intended. In that case, perhaps you could find 40 Robyn imitators to jump out of a plane during the performance. Now that would add some real pizzaz and give the viewers at home something to cheer about! Not to mention the endless potential for photo opportunities............ Susan ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Dec 1996 13:48:45 -0800 (PST) From: "Dot, the Itchy God." Now that would add some real pizzaz and give > the viewers at home something to cheer about! Not to mention the endless > potential for photo opportunities............ this is getting closer to the nevada ideal, but unfortunately they might have to *pay* these imitators to do this. that would cut into the profit of the whole gig. not a appealing option for those in control of it all. realizing a neo-marxist geography of nevada, .chris ------------------------------ From: bryanm@doc.state.ok.us (Bryan Moore) Subject: Robyn dream Date: Wed, 4 Dec 1996 16:10:56 -0600 I've been reading all of the concert posts about Robyn. Last night after a meal of left over pizza I had a dream about seeing Robyn in concert. It was at some non descript club on the east coast (I live in the midwest). I had traveled there to see him and was staying at a hotel near the club. I arrived at the concert late (sounds like a lot of the posts) and he was playing You and Oblivion, but the audio was breaking up. I don't remember any other songs. After the show, outside the club, I lean in the car Robyn is in and hand him two driver's licenses to autograph. He autographs them. I ask him what the first song he played was and he answers "You and Oblivion". I go back to my hotel room relieved that I didn't miss any of the show. Thanks for all the concert descriptions. --- Bryan Check out the power pop band Wakeland at http://www.revolution-online.com/wakeland/ ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 4 Dec 1996 17:59:52 -0500 From: mlang@inch.com (Matrix) Subject: New Yorkers alert I just found out that The Favorite Color's show tomorrow night is a showcase, meaning that there are label people coming interested in us. Some great bands, Parasol and Holmes will follow. Thanks for tolerating this and please help me out y'all. You can call me at 212-219-1515 if ya have questions. I was told to waar something dark. He asked how many tickets I wanted, and caught off guard, I replied 2. He took my name and that was that. I was suprized that it was a nice warm human being and not some recording. I was also suprised that he bothered to first call the number I left, then allow my husband to give him my work #, which he then called. Very nice. Anyway--Im afraid its a bad time of year for playing hookey from my real life, so my husband and I will only be able to make it up for Wens. who else will be there? Oh--the downside. Its at 10.oo AM.
