Wonderful stuff. By the way, did you know that Robyn is featured on a set of five Christmas stamps being released by the Mongolian postal department? the stamps are: 5 ungh - a Man with a Lightbulb Head is shown flying through the sky on a sleigh pulled by six old London trams. 10 ungh - a Wide Open Star on top of a Christmas tree. Around the tree are four festive Balloon men. 25 ungh - two young children unwrapping presents. The presents are a small block of perspex with a bird embedded in it, and a small jar of Egyptian Cream. 50 ungh - an underwater scene with various sea creatures all wearing festive christmas costumes. There is a bass, a trilobite, and a squid (who appears to be dressed in Victorian dress) 1 blevatny - a family sitting down to a festive Christmas dinner. The room is lit by candles in the shape of little wax dolls, and a large luminous rose. In the middle of the table are a skull, a suitcase and two bottles of wine. One of them is probably long and red... the other one is certainly Cliquot. ;) James James Dignan, Department of Psychology, University of Otago. Perhaps I have the Inner Mongolian reprint, rather than the Ulan Bator first issue? "Bulbous also tapered" - Mike Godwin ------------------------------ From: Hedblade@aol.com Date: Sat, 30 Nov 1996 15:25:43 -0500 Subject: Discography HELP! OK, Fegs, As some of you know, I am currently working on a Soft Boys / Robyn discography that takes into account all of the songs that have NOT been issued on any of the recent re-issues from Rhino / Ryko. As a service to Fegs world wide, this discography will help you complete your collection with the least amount of cash expended for old, hard to find vinyl, etc. I've got some questions, and your input would be GREATLY appreciated! After this next round of information, I'm going to post my findings to the list, and then we can fine tooth it again. PLEASE, I need your help! QUESTIONS: * How different is the "Old Pervert" (Disco Version) from the "I Wanna Destroy You" 7"? * What was the date of Robyn's performance on Mountain Stage that the track "The Arms Of Love" was taken from for "The Best Of Mountain Stage Vol. 2"? * Is the "A Day In The Life" from The Bob magazine issue #42 - 1992 the same version that appears on "Live Death" ? * Is the version of "As Lemons Drop / Chop (???)" on the Ptolemaic Terrascope single the same as on Mossy Liquor? * Rumor has it that there was an alternate version of "She Was Sinister But She Was Happy" released with an issue of an undetermined magazine before the release of Moss Elixir. Can anyone confirm this? * I'm nearly certain there was a Nigel And The Crosses flexi disc from Bucketfull Of Brains, and yet everyone keeps sending me the info on "Wild Mountain Thyme" from the Byrds tribute "Time Between - A Tribute To The Byrds". Three questions on this one: 1) Can anyone confirm the existance of the flexi, and what track it is? 2) What year did the Byrds tribute come out? 3) Does anyone have a copy of the live show that Nigel and the Crosses performed? (I recall Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze was a part of this flexi and part of the live show- am I making this up??? HELP!). * Griffith Davies sent me info on a 7" single from November of 1986 with 4 live cuts on it. That was all the info he had; any clue as to what this is? * Is "The Queen Of Eyes" on the Bucketfull of Brains flexi from issue #28 an alternate take? The discography is coming along, as it seems I had a pretty good grasp of what was out there. However, some of you Fegs may be holding out on me, and I'll look like a fool when this is done. Do you want that to happen to a fellow Feg? Of course not! So send your info! Also, anyone else working on or in possession of Robyn / Soft Boys discographies please e-mail me.
