My company recently bought some chat room code from an outfit that runs an emormous chat site on the web. The upshot is that I now have some passworded private chat rooms that I don't know what to do with. I'd like to donate one to the list. To check it out, aim your browser at http://soc.hyperchat.com. You'll need to give yourself a handle to get in (but you can forget about that once you get past the front door). Once you're in, type the word "perspex" (without the quotes) in the box next to the "Find" button in the upper right hand corner of the page. You'll be prompted for a password next: Type "bass" (again, without the quotes) in the box and hit the button. You're in. Chat it up. SOC is a huge site (I think they've had something like 2.5 million hits in 24 hours), and there is something for everyone there -- and I mean everyone. The neighborhood can get a little weird, but what the heck, it's free. ========= SH McCleary 3052 S. Cope fan, I was wondering if you know when us Americans would see Mr. Cope's Interpreter released here? I'd appreciate any info. I like your site, by the way, though things do move slowly. Keep up the good work. Dan Troy __________________________________________________________ _____________________ Copey's people say Interpreter is looking good for a release in the US early in the New Year. So there ya go! Bye <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< I got the above word from NME. I'm counting the days, as I've heard great things about Interpreter. Now for the Robyn content: It's been at least three days since Ive tried to sell Flydaddy CDs, so I think I'm entitled! For anyone not aware, Flydaddy recently put out a double CD, 35 band release to raise money for the English fanzine, Ptolemaic Terrascope. PT is a booster for morphine-induced psychedelia, and some of the best purveyors of the craft are represented here - including Robyn doing an alternate take of She was Sinister but She was Happy (more subdued, no viola, a little piano)! Others including material (virtually all of it previously unreleased) are The Bevis Frond, Motorpsycho, Endino's Earthworm, Olivia Tremor Control, Capatin Sensible, the Linus Pauling Quartet, the Heads, Coil, the Green Pajamas, and many more (Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey somehow get into the act, as well). The CD is called Succour. Flydaddy's address (though not for long) is: PO Box 545 Newport, RI 02840 Happy Thanksgiving, Fegs! Five of 'em. Which means I've got four extras if anyone missed out (hard to imagine if he's sending them five at a time). If you want one let me know. But first check with Jim Neil at Rhino (jim_neill @ rhino.com) to see if they have any left 'cause he'll cover the postage and I probably won't...the exception being free delivery to SF Bay Area residents. :) -russ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 26 Nov 1996 23:43:17 -0500 (EST) From: Tracy Aileen Copeland Subject: Robyn's comic? While I was mostly off-list (late February through late May), someone mentioned that a non-mainstream comic planned to run a backup story by Hitchcock. I vaguely remember that this was supposed to be in Pat Moriarty's _Big Mouth_, but my half-hearted wanderings through the archives haven't turned it up. Did this happen? The local comic stores aren't too big on stocking non-superhero material, so I could well have missed it if it *did* come out.
