THey were kinda ignored > and didn't seem like the kind to be filmed.. There's a reunion gig with Peter Buck that is on boot video. Quality is rather poor. It is from the Powerhouse Bosnia benefit gig from 92(?) The Bingo Hand Job shows with Robyn are also around on video-again pooor quality. RH is only on a few tunes, including "Listening to the Higsons" with various REM men.( A hilarious take on "Tom's Diner": featuring Billy Bragg and Stipe is from this show"-judging by the video it WAS a total improv. Q: Did the Soft Boys ever appear on TV back in their heydey? Q: anyone else think the "Goldmine" article was rather harsh on the Soft Boys material? I think it is wonderful and miss electrified Robyn myself. Date: Sun, 20 Oct 1996 21:37:37 -0700 hi fegs! had some spare time during my weekend so i changed my screen saver. it's the shadowcat/figgy looking a little more sinister and real. it's 352k, so don't download it if you don't want to waste your time. ta-ra...jv [editor's note: the bitmap is located at ftp://ftp.ecto.org/pub/lists/fegmaniax/pictures/figgy.bmp. as a general plea to all, please don't post binary files to the list! not everyone has mime-enabled tools that can cope with the reams of encoded bytes that mime clogs mailboxes with and not everyone has the option to not download all their mail. if you have image, sound or whatever files you wish to share, either make them available on your own ftp/web site or contact me about putting them on the fegmanaix site. then, post a pointer to the list alerting everyone as to where they can be found. thanks. +woj] ____________________________________________________________ ethnic/world music director, kzuu 90.7 fm @ washington state university u.s. correspondent, brasil 2000 103.7 fm - sao paolo, brasil vaska, jeffery | jvaska@mail.wsu.edu http://www.wsu.edu:8080/~jvaska/ ------------------------------ From: "Aaron J. All reviews should include such wildly different points of view -- for the uninitiated, it is much more informative. For the record, however, I should add that the first reviewer clearly knew his subject far better. Mismanaged metaphors aside, his focus was on Hitchcock's unique songwriting, not on what a wacked-out luney guy that Hitchcock is, writing songs about chandeliers festooned with leeches (leaches?). The second reviewer, to sum it up, was most impressed with Perspex Island... Aaron J. Should we? Or are all of you fourteen year-old freaks? (If so, should we anyway?) lj ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Oct 1996 15:53:43 -0500 (CDT) From: Truman Peyote Subject: Chicago social event Ok, I need to know when everyone wants to meet up and how we will recognize each other (should we bring toast?). There are two options for meeting places, herewith submitted for your approval (thanks to Doc for the suggestions :)). 1. Sheffield's (corner of Sheffield and School about a block or so from the theater)- According to the good Doc, they have an excellent beer selection and play good music. No food, but you can bring food in if you so desire. Also, for the cocktail fanciers among you, I am informed that there is a bartender named Scooch who makes brilliant martinis. 2. Chicago Draft House (one block south of the other place)- Beer selection not as good, and according to Dr. the crowd is a bit jockish, so it would seem that the main advantage of this place is that bar-style food is readily available. So I guess what I need is votes on which destination is the fegger's choice, and what time is best for everyone- I know this might vary, as some are driving quite aways, so approximate timing is fine. Step right up and hurry hurry, cause the show is fast approaching. Susan ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The End of this Fegmaniax Digest. *sob* .
