I just bought my copy this morning! They had exactly 1 copy at the Tower Records in Northeast Philly! Excellent smiling(!!??) photos of Robyn on both front and back covers! Yahoo! ------------------------------ From: vince Subject: Need a Mossy? Date: Wed, 24 Jul 1996 09:52:30 -0500 (CDT) Picked up a Mossy Liquor album in Austin at Waterloo Records. They had about 10 copies. They will do mail order so you might give them a call at (512)474-2525. The record was $10. I haven't listened to it yet but figured this info may be of use to some of you. vince ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 1996 11:38:55 -0400 (EDT) From: Eugene B Mirman Subject: More mossy... I found a copy yesterday at Newbury Comics in Amherst, MA. I bet the Boston ones have a bunch too. There was one more at Newbury, if anyone lives around here. It's a fine album. I can't wait till Moss Elixer appears. I wonder if WB is going to make Robyn a star? Party of Five, Dumb and Dumber...he's so popular. -Eugene ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tipper Gore said to Lou Reed, "Lou Reed, how can we communicate better with our children?" I called Tower Records to find out if they had any in stock. The guy at tower looked in his computer to see what I was talking about. He said they did not order any because RH is not a big seller. Granted. However when I asked if I could order it, he said no. Even if I drove down to the store and asked him to order it he would not. That is odd, since they have a huge banner inside that says "We do special orders". Screw him. I went to my local independent store (yes it is a chain, but only 5 stores in the LA area). As I walked in, I could see RH's mug looking back at me from across the room. At last, I found it. It was the only copy they had in stock. now if I only had a turntable............. ______________________________________________________________ Griffith Davies hbrtv219@dewey.csun.edu ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jul 1996 17:36:43 -0400 (EDT) From: Eugene B Mirman Subject: Re: More mossy... Something called guilty pleasures. It is a collection of celebrities talking about (go figure) their guilty pleasures. This is Robyn's contribution. ( I don't know if this has been posted before but I thought some of y'all might be interested) Guilty Pleasures interviews by Tim Quirk What do the Jesus Lizard, Robyn Hitchcock, Penn Jillette, Ween, Matthew Sweet, Bootsy Collins and Traci Lords hate to admit they love? ROBYN HITCHCOCK "I have a lot of guilt, but it's not stuff that brings me pleasure. Then again, I have a lot of pleasures, but they're not things that make me guilty. It's important to be able to enjoy yourself. You could argue that nobody in the western world is entitled to do that. The gap between us and everybody else is so obscene. Are we entitled to even one meal a day or two orgasms a week, when two thirds of the world is in the shit, and largely because we're not in the shit? In a way, all pleasure in the west should be guilty. But within that terrifying context, I eat a lot, and I like drinking a lot, and I like sex a lot...I still smoke. I really like white wine, bourbon and port." Matt ------------------------------ From: Bjorn Levidow Subject: ML in Seattle Area Date: Wed, 24 Jul 1996 13:13:02 -0700 After being screwed by CD-NOW!, I called all around Seattle's independent record dealers. The only one that had it, Cellophane Square, had ordered them for specific customers. So, I started calling the chains. Much to my surprise, Tower Records in Bellevue had 3 copies. I snagged one, but the other two aren't spoken for as far as I know. You can call them at (206) 451-2557. Good luck.
