Yes, he wrote it with them in mind. In the musty caverns of the archive, there are some facts and info about this. Woj, the ancient archivist, can lead you through the maze of twisty passages, but do not offer him money as he has taken a noble vow of poverty. I think I saw a copy of it a little while ago in the Boston store Disc Diggers for $4. I could be wrong I don't remember exactly. If someone in Boston is looking for a copy it might be there. Or in Nuggets or Planet Records. I think it's one of them. I know this might not be helpful, but I did see it somewhere recently in Boston, so if someone feels like hunting... -Eugene ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tipper Gore said to Lou Reed, "Lou Reed, how can we communicate better with our children?" I found _Alvin Lives (in Leeds)_ in just the second store I visited! Can you believe it? John Jones was right; he located _Alvin_ in a Circuit City in El Paso, and it was at Circuit City in Arlington, Texas (home of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club, currently in first place in the AL West division, and home of the greatest concentration of retail and restaurant businesses within a five mile radius in the entire country -- truly!) where I found this copy of _Alvin_. There was only 1 copy -- but if I find any others at any sister stores around here I'll buy them up and sell them to feglisters. Robyn's song is one of the best on the CD. Pretty funny, too. I think the shrieking and groaning by Robyn and Andy in the background are the best thing about the track. Someone asked what else was on the CD, and because I didn't bring it with me to work I can only say "a lot of bands I never heard of before." It's a covers CD, and there's some pretty strange stuff. The only other groups I recognized on the CD are Lush and The Close Lobsters. There are covers of, among others: Le Freak, Bohemian Rapsody, Summer Love (yes, the one from Grease), My Sweet Lord and Chirpy Cheep Cheep. It's definitely worth the $4.99 + tax I paid for it. Thanks John and all those of you who sent me emails with helpful information... I'm going to start the ball rolling (so to speak) Two catogories: 1) Subtle (kind-a) 2) Overt O.K. Good enough. Subtle (kind-a) : "When the sun goes...down on her." Overt: "Getting blow jobs from your friends." Alright. Now let's run w/ it ! Another idea: A lot classier. Time signitures. We all know them. We all love them. What Robyn songs aren't in 4/4 ? Again, I'll start: "The Shapes Between Us (Turn into Animals)" "Love Poisoning" {Verses} Why, they're in 3/4 ! Grab the baton fegs. Run like hell ! I think you mean "...from the press". :) On the radio he sang "Gettin' Orals from the press." Well, the clever bit in "Acid Bird" about the tap. And the Piece of toast in "Have a Heart". And there's always Wafflehead (the strawberries above her knees). Not to mention possible implications of any number of others- bass, meat, insect mother, agony of pleasure, insect mother, cheese you, cool bug rumble, victorian squid, message for you ... or is it just me? also, i was admonished by a certain listmember who will be momentarily nameless, for being too timid earlier, so i will announce that robyn sang "i want to fuck you with a bass". there. happy? well, just be glad it isn't the masturbation songs thread, that would go on forever. ------------------------------ Subject: Re: Oral Time Date: Tue, 25 Jun 96 15:34:29 -0700 From: Tom Clark >Another idea: A lot classier.
