Let's hope for some duets-- not unlikely, since the last time I saw Billy he brought the Disposible Heroes of Hiphoprisy onstage with him and closed with "Groove is in the Heart". This new tour could be a mutually great thing for the careers of two great songwriters in a time when songcraft is anathema. Tour should have a snazzy name, something like "Love, Crustaceans and Socialism". (Sidelight, as American Music Club was on the same bill as Billy at that same show: Mark Eitzel has been recently sighted collaborating with My Bloody Valentine-- SCHWING!) _______________________________________________ The Top 5 race continues. Fascinating results! Please note: SOFT BOYS SONGS ARE VERY ADMISSIBLE! Anything that comes from the pen-- or even the extemporaneous mind-- of Mssr. Hitchcock is fair game. Woj has generously volunteered to give the results, as well as the condensed compilation of individual Top 5's, a home on the Web Page, which saves me some time and trouble. I will therefore publish the RESULTS ONLY when we're done-- in their entirety, with all the inevitable ties intact-- believe it or not, there's currently a tie for the top slot! Voting will remain open through next WEDNESDAY, June 19-- that should allow the "Weekend People" a chance to consider the challenge and post their lists, along with those of you who log on to the list at work on Monday. Results should, optimistically, be posted by Friday the 21st. Thanks, all! The only collaboration I know of btw these two is a performance of the same deee-lite song at some big luvviefest- i think morris was there too, among many others. Billy introduced the band during the song and when it was his turn to be introduced, Robyn played the riff from 'Interstellar Overdrive'. And is Robyn REALLY going to record "Alright, Yeah" for the new album? Sheesh, THERE's an old one! And and why wait until August if the LP is ready NOW?
