The ratio of the sexes may not be 50% (I haven't counted) but this list is certainly no "boys club". It is up to us to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps and make a future for ourselves. My brothers and sisters, today I call for a united show of unity that will unite us in unification. I sure hope I'm NOT oppressing anyone on this list, since I enjoy the mail from everyone. Hey, one of the good things about email is that often it's not really possible to tell who people are at the other end (what DOES "woj" stand for, anyway? The national anthem, I guess). And as the good goddess of toast pointed out, it's quite possible for people who are female or gay to contribute without fear - we're all friends here, I hope. If you want to talk "girl-talk" (not my words), then go for it. You're as entitled to speak on this list as I am, and twice as welcome. :) Other notes: - whoever it was who said happy new year to the druids - hey, six months out for the southerners! - finally received Glass Flesh (thanks Simon). Some wonderful music. I've only listened to tape two so far: standouts would be the lovely version of love and the amazing bluegrass Brenda. - congratulations to the new ma & pa! Anyways, the substance of that poster's post (sorry didn't save it) had to do w/*what sort of things* are discussed here, and posited a correlation between those things and the gender of the post-ers. I'm a bit dubious about that myself: I know a lot of women who can go many more rounds w/the injoke thing than I can, and this male at least gets bored out of his skull by "boy-thing" guitar-tech talk... (for me, at least, if I want to figure out a song I'll listen to it and do so...it's good training for the ear anyway). But anyway I think lists are stronger the more people post, of whatever sex/gender/race/sexuality/species/shoe-size/toast preference.
