Fegs, Since someone else has admitted to not posting in nine months, I must admit that I have only posted once since subscribing six months ago. It's not that I'm afraid, mind you, but I'm still in the "learning" period, although I've listened to Robyn for years (ca. 1987 or whenever it was that GOF came out), I just didn't know that much about him. There, I've confessed my sin of lurking and I feel better already. BTW, the subject that perked my posting interest was Glass Flesh. Having heard this discussed alot, I was always curious about it. Since someone else recently showed interest in obtaining it, I was wondering how I, the feg in lurking, could obtain a copy... Some knowledgable feg please email me. I doubt I have anything to trade, but I could provide reasonable monetary compensation. Martin mahoyt@uci.edu P.S. Woj, is there a way to switch from the digest to a regular subscription without unsubscribing? That's what > makes him good, and that's what makes him interesting. > > Peas. > Sings more than he talks about his music? You obviously haven't been reading the interviews he's done. I've got several disagreements with you here 1)This is just as much about Robyn Hithcock fans as it is about Robyn Hithcock [and the other Soft Boys, Experts, Meatpackers and Egyptians]. If someone has something to say that they can relate to Robyn in some way, like, for example, doing a cover of his song, then I want to know about that as much as I want to know about the original. His band is going out free to quite a few of us, and if he wants to move some tapes, after this preview, I think that he's got a right to tell us to buy it dirt cheap, if we like it. If we can get another Robyn-like band relatively famous that would be great. Be even better if, unlike most bands, they were still in the mood to e-mail their fans and have a nice chat with them 2) I've got to disagree with that "music, not talk" mentality. Being as this is text only, you can't get much more music than the tabs.. What else is he to do. Also, if Robyn Hithcock [or Jim, Kimberly, Gerry, Matt, Andy, Morris, Roger or Alan, for that matter] were to come in here and discuss the songs with us, I'd very much appreciate that. Unfortunately [unless there's a lurker about], he doesn't seem to be doing that. Mike's willing to tell us about his band. Not a lot, but just that, if we like it, buy the album. 3) It's not as if we're supposed to just go into dormancy whenever Robyn enters a boring period....I'd rather have a vaguely related personal story than no news at all I know..I'm not the moderator and so forth, so these opinions are, by no means, the official ones for the list. Don't send me mail, I already know that. I don't have a real album of it. I'd prefer if you could correct it, but even a message saying "Terry, that sounds nothing like a G" would be appreciated 3) Same with this song. Don't have Gravy Deco [yet]. Therefore, I couldn't figure out the chorus, and some of the chords may be a bit off..
