The consensus is that the line is "Cycling madly through Honiton Clyst." There doesn't seem to be a "Honiton Clyst," but there is a "Clyst Honiton" in Devon, according to Rob Collingwood and Jonathan Turner. The _Fegmania!_ lyrics aren't on the lyrics page yet, and won't be until I have access to a stereo and can proofread them (or someone else transcribes them.) They'll be available soon, I hope. I'm working on 7 or so from Fegmania right now. I'm doing my part. Are you doing yours?]. I was thinking of posting this list every time that the list changes by 10 songs, but then I thought...why? So I decided that unless 7 songs are posted on here each month, by people other than myself, I'll post it. :) But if you do have tabs of any of the songs on it, send them to an archive somewhere.. The real Hitchcock material [chord] "Oh, he was drunk, and he wanted to protect a cat. And I - [woman's voice: "Protect from what?"] It was difficult to tell, state he was in, and I was too, and we, we found some cats and went off and protected them, [woman: "Oh really?"] but they managed to - yeah. Okay, look, this is gonna be 'I Something You,' take one. Silence in court. Here we go. I hope it's rolling as well. Oh, we're rolling, okay. Okay. Hang on, there's a plane." The woman's voice is somewhat indistinct. 2. The unreal Hitchcock material At my job I have to write macros for the software, the reasoning being that it's easier for me to write macros than it is for anyone else to learn to use the software. Anyone who writes to me (not to the list) with an explanation of what this one does (and what software it's for) wins a small inexplicable object from the box I keep in my room for this purpose - things too useless to get attached to but too fascinating to outright throw away. Anyone who points out the defects in the software and in my coworkers this macro reveals wins nothing. Anyone who sends me a plane ticket to Taiwan, allowing me to quit this job, wins the whole boxful. If you enjoy reading this half as much as I enjoyed writing it, I apologize. \T {home}/wgdoudq {if #NOT#@isapp("allways")}{aaallways~1q {d}{branch woj} queen {elvis} {app4}/frreg~ /frr5~{pgup} q/ltchh*||**#~qq{app4}{home} frogs {blank feg}{for feg,31,1,-1,brenda} {wife}{if yip}{home}{quit} {squid}{branch frogs} feg brenda {d}{wife} {if yip}{home}{quit} {app4}{eyes}{app4}{d} woj {wife} {if yip}{branch queen} {if @cellpointer("contents")<>"::"}{d}{branch woj} /wdr.{d 2}~{d} {branch woj} eyes /flb{r 15}~ squid /wp/wir.{d}~ /chen~~ {app4}/schen~~ {d}{app4} yip elvis {home}/rndreg~ /rncreg~.{d} {bees} {r 15}~ wife {blank yip} {if @cellpointer("type")="b"}{let yip,1:v} bees {wife}{if yip}{return} {d}{branch bees} I would have liked to have given a bit more structure to the names - to have had {queen} branch to either {eyes} or {elvis}, say - but my choice of names was often limited by how many characters I could use. Queen Elvis was never released in the UK, and according to Mrs Wafflehead (and the Tower Records computer in NY) it has been deleted. Any of the fine fegs out there know of a reliable secondhand CD trader who does international deliveries? Fax # appreciated. (Come to think of it, doesn't need to be international delivery - as long as it can make Kansas City, that's fine). Whoever hand-writes Mrs W's stuff isn't Robyn; letter forms are totally different. It could be Robyn's roadie or SO (wife?) who was driving for him before the Renfrew Ferry gig in Glasgow in May; this is pure speculation on my part. I met Robyn briefly before the gig (he accused me of being the support artist...) before he zoomed off in his silver Volvo. As a young and attractive performer, she toured the Forces bases during WWII to keep morale up. Robyn did a little spiel on this at his concert in Glasgow in May this year. Dedicated the song to those who didn't *quite* make it to the VE day anniversary. What's up? _Invisible Hitchcock_, the collection of oddments recorded in the years about 1982-1985; as Robyn puts it in the liner, "...these songs 1) didn't fit with what I was doing at the time and 2) they do fit together now." Sort of like an earlier _You & Oblivion_, with keyboards (I believe Robyn also plays paper bag and Fisher-Price Activity Centre on this album). Perhaps one could say it is to _Y&O_ what _...Trains_ is to _Eye_. The reissue contains part 2 of "The professor" (continued from _Y&O_). I liked part 1 of the story better, but I still like _Invisible Hitch_. Besides IGaMFY, (which as you know, RH played to death on the _Eye_ tour), it contains the Abandoned Brain (which I butcher rather spectacularly on the tribute album ;) bayard [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Fri, 28 Jul 95 10:31:59 EST From: kenster@MIT.EDU (ostrander) To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu Subject: Re: I Got a Message For You Cc: nms@slip.net (Nick Silva) >What album is this on? It's a nice solo show with some standard tunes. However, during the encores, three songs were performed that I was unaware of. I am sure someone out there knows more about them. 1) During the encore, an audience memeber screams out, "Donna Summer." Robyn repeats the name questioningly, but then starts a song with lyrics like, "Donna Summer burns inside my head. Donna Summer burns until I'm dead...." Was Mr. Hitchcock doing a spontaneous song here? If so, he's quick on his feet. The lyrics later fit together well. 2) The next I think was a cover of a traditional song. It had to do with a child and God. The lyrics didn't seem like his, anyway. Anyone with any info? 3) The third song dealt with visiting a gypsy. All three songs were solo acoustic guitar. Anyone have any info?
