Very brief, just a fragment really-- I don't even remember what song it was. I've never had/watched mtv, I just happened to be at a friend's house and he was flicking channels. Come to think of it, it could have been taped at the '89 [?] luvviefest with bingo hand job et all... I'm told Robyn was playing outside the venue for a long while before anyone so much as took notice of him, let alone recognized him. At least once that I know of, anyway. And when he hosted that particular time, yes, he performed "One Long Pair Of Eyes." Quite brilliant. Wish I'd saved the tape I'm sure I made of the show. (I used to tape it regularly.) Didn't feel like punctuating- don't bother, as with much of my gibberish, it won't make any more sense if you add 300,000 commas. The vid isn't very well done. It was obviously a single take on old tape, but it's always neat to see period pieces. This was a 198? Best of 120 Minutes video I found for about a buck and it also included a little interview with Stan Ridgway before his first record came out. It was back when those guys were starving musicians. I guess not much has changed. -Mark Gloster "Not a real mental patient, but I play one on TV" [][][][][][][][][][] From: Beebster@aol.com Date: Mon, 5 Jun 1995 21:38:49 -0400 To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu Subject: Re: Robyn and MTV >since then, i think he's been on 120 minutes a couple more times. the >only one i'm sure about is february of 1993, where he did "arms of >love" and "the yip song". I think it was during this appearance (he guest hosted the show), Robyn also did "Serpent at the Gates of Wisdom", but this particular performance wasn't aired until a week or two later. - Cath [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Mon, 5 Jun 1995 21:00:08 -0600 To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu From: truth.kirk.monkey@MAIL.UTEXAS.EDU (Die, swine.)
