Trojan Records (NoRobyn Content) american tours robyn to return [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Tue, 23 May 1995 07:51:53 GMT From: sweetums To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu, spxscr@thor.cf.ac.uk Subject: Robyn the Man (is *that* what he is!) Do "we" think maybe the harmonising sound coulda been due to extraordinarily terrific acoustics in the church, which after all I suppose in my humble little way was designed for lotsa singing? He wasn't actually speaking in tongues, but close to. Simon also writes, "Heartful of Leaves" (Not on Fegmania! as claimed by the "Robyn Hitchcock" sampler CD including "Statue with a Walkman", but instead on "I Often Dream of Trains" called "Heart Full of Leaves". Where's my anorak?) ... I personally am shocked by this error on the CD! Even *I* knew that, and I'm a Phyllis Stein. Why don't you like to talk about him? Just curious. I had only nice (I thought!) things to say about him, so ... anyway I thought for him he was very very relaxed indeed! Every other time I've seen him he has seemed irritable if not downright disgusted that he had to be there playing to us. I mean, I had terrible stage fright just giving school presentations so I am totally sympathetic. But my new RH convert friend was particularly impressed with how "laid back" he was. I think the hair flicking back is an amusing -- what? well, it's not really an affectation, but looks like he enjoys doing that. It was certainly a night to remember, and other cliches. Fancy the Lewes gig? If I have a plan to go with someone I'm much more likely to go (I hate driving and navigating simultaneously ...). [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Tue, 23 May 1995 10:16:36 -0400 (EDT) From: Bayard To: The Pit of Souls Subject: robyn to return Wasn't there an interview posted late last year in which Robyn stated that he was going to tour the west coast, the east coast, part of englad then "do it all again, lasso style"? so we may all get our wish-- I know few of us will miss the chance to see him again, especially those of us who missed out this last time :( and know that I'm getting a D7.. and robyn encourages taping... :) remember folks, woj's tape tree and mine are different. as they have come to fruition at the same time, I think I'm missing out on some tree membership. Being signed up for _NetSurfer Ghost_ does not automatically get you on the list for _Glash Flesh_. Hey, I know our tapes don't have robyn on them, but we fleshheads are doing our best ;) just send me a private email letting me know your dubbing capabilities and inclanations (if any) and geographical location. I'll do the rest. If you replied to my message of a few weeks ago ("It's time for the tape tree.") you _Don't_ need to reply again. this account is not going to mysteriously go away. There is an error on the song listing. Heartful Of Leaves says its from Fegmania while it is actually from IOTOT. Statue With A Walkman is the only track not available from the Rhino reissues. 1. Cuty Of Shame 1. Nite Ride To Trinade 3. Heartful Of Leaves 4. I'm Only You 5. Listening To The Higsons ( Hen version ) 6. Airscape 7. Got A Message For You 8. Queen Elvis III 9. Surgery ( You & Oblivian version ) 10. So maybe that explains the west coast connection. Bradley [][][][][][][][][][] Date: 23 May 95 22:48:14 EDT From: Benjamin.M.Brainard@dartmouth.edu (Benjamin M. Brainard) Subject: Trojan Records (NoRobyn Content) To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu hi...I just had a question for those of you on the list who are from London...I'm about to send a lot of money to a place called specialist record services for some old trojan records releases and i was just wondering if any of you had heard of this place and whether it was legit or not; i don't have a phone number or anything and I can't send a personal cheque because they want pounds etc. etc. so...any one heard of these guys? They also deal with Combat records, i believe, or whatever label GBH was/is(?) on. thanks in advance for any help... ...ben ps. their address is: 2nd floor twyman house 31-39 camden road london NW1 9LF thanks!
