It made me remember a dream I had a year ago where Robyn was dressed as a priest and held mass! It started with him playing something worped liked Abainden Brain on the organ. Is wish I could rememeber what he was saying during the mass. Sometimes when I looked around other people were there and sometimes I was alone. I just remeber thinking that it was the best mass I had been to! Anyone pick up the Robyn Hitchcock compilation with Statue With A Walkman on it? Whats with the song Handful Of Flowers? It says on the disc that it appears on Fegmania?! bh [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Fri, 19 May 1995 14:35:38 -0400 (EDT) From: Eugene B Mirman Subject: Re: Union Chapel gig, Islington To: sweetums Cc: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu, vbl@cix.compulink.co.uk On Fri, 19 May 1995, sweetums wrote: > > And they had lotsa neat stuff to buy, including some live tapes I'd never ever > seen before, and a UK address for Mrs Wafflehead, which if anyone doesn't have, > I'd happily send 'em. > What were these live shows of? Indescribable. I brought a new friend (met at a Shriekback gig) who'd never heard of Robyn to the Union Chapel, and I kept trying to get it out: "He's ... well, he's ... sort of ... psychedelic ... but ... funny yet sad songs ... ... acoustic but sometimes electric ... great shirts ... Captain Beefheart ... solo ... and then sometimes he's ... umm ...." I just gave up eventually, said come and you'll love it but don't ask me to explain. Needless to say, she loved it. And another friend who went off to Honk Gonk for a year with a mixt Robyn tape in her pocket wrote and requested *more more more* after a month or so ... so he *is* contagious (infectious? p'raps not), even if not describable.
