He was the tall one in the video for "walking on sunshine". I read that the reason why the SBs tour never got past England was because of conflicts between Robyn and Kimberly, and schedule conflicts with K and the Ws, since they're "very big in Sweden" and often tour there. In high school, one of my friends' favorite jokes was "yo, Kimberly, here's your choice: one-hit-wonder with your girlfriend or WORK WITH A GENIUS! Huh, Kimberly, huh? WRONG CHOICE, MAN, WRONG CHOICE!" Just like to pop in here and say that I've experienced that first-hand. I used to smoke pot until I tried to write a song stoned. It was the most ghods-awful conglomeration of frequencies ever assembled by _anyone_. I erased the tape and burned the lyrics the next day. All you have to do is listen to Robyn's lyrics to see that he's at least not stoned when he writes them. A lot of thought goes into them. ---Mike ----------------------- "People ask me why I'm obsessed with fish, but it's not true. Their latest release was "Edge of the Land". Pretty much straight-ahead pop music. Not bad, similar to thier earlier releases. You can still here Rew's guitar work and song writing in many of the tunes. By the way, this latest release was europe only and is more than a little difficult to find in the states (at least in the Pacific Northwest). To: fegmaniax@ns2.rutgers.edu I just got the reissue of EOL and it's quite dandy. The new versions are pretty exciting, though I don't know if the muted trumpet on Raymond Chandler Evening was neseccary. Are the bonus tracks on Fegmania! exciting; I'm a little weary of owning three versions of Egyptian Cream on one cd. I just got tickets to the Amherst show (yes Daver, one for you) and I can't wait! He went on to say that it really didn't do much for him, mostly because he feels that the line between his conscious and subconscious mind is normally pretty thin. He said this is what makes him a good songwriter but a horrible driver. I've similarly heard that he's trying to or has successfully stopped drinking as well. I don't buy the "genius" argument that great art comes only from the chemically uninhanced, though certainly long term use of any chemical (including sugar, caffiene, etc.) will turn anyone's brain to some degree of mush. But late Beatles, mid-Bowie, George Clinton (P-Funk), Velvet Underground / Lou Reed, the Breeders, ad nauseum are examples of great music produced under major influence of, um, outside stimuli. ******** jajasoon tlitteu (jmittell@students.wisc.edu) "You've probably heard that Microsoft has recently taken over the Catholic Church.
