Fegmaniax Digest Volume 2 Number 13 [][][][][][][][][][] Date: 26 Feb 94 17:30:00 EST From: "Mike Brown - ST (EXT 230)" Subject: aquarium question To: "fegmaniax" I'm going to Monterey CA next month so natually I've got a question about "Aquarium" off Eye. As reported in a past digest, Cynthia took Robyn to Monterey. I don't understand the line "when you were still with me" in the song. Since both Respect and Perplex Island mention Cynthia in the liner notes, I assume they are still together what? Also has Robyn been dropped from A&M? Also is there any good record/cd stores I should hunt out in either San Luis Obispo or Monterey? Last question: can anyone recommend and portable stereo recorder? What features to look for. What prices to expect. Mike. "Life is easy. Life goes by." To: fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu I heard a rumor from a friend of mine that at one time Robyn played a cover of Syd Barrett's "Dark Globe" live...true or no? Any info.? On a completely irrelevant tangent- I heard a truly amazing song tonight by this band called Busted Statues. The song's called "Red Clouds", and I can't describe it other then to say that it's simply one of the greatest things I've heard in the past five years- fairly straight ahead guitar/bass/ drum kind of affair, but the melody catches you and refuses to let go. It soars through the air like a breeze right before a spring thunderstorm...has anyone ever seen or heard anything by this band? I desperately want to find more by them. I think they might be from Massachusetts, from a few years back. If you know of them or have anything by them, please tell me. Again, sorry for what seems to be becoming my habit of posting fairly "Robyn irrelevant" messages...but when I hear good music, I like to share it with people I think might appreciate it.... :-) peace, daveR. To: fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu Hello there, quick question: I heard a while back that there was going to be a live record from the semi-acoustic Egyptians tour of 1992-93. Is this true? If so, when is coming out? Also, is anyone interested in trading bootleg tapes? I don't know what everybody thinks about such matters, but for the record I say: never profit from bootlegs & don't harm the artist. I only trade (never sell) and I buy all of robyn's legitimate releases anyway, so no one can say that the bootlegs harm album sales. Anyway, I only have 2 robyn tapes (but also have various other interesting things) one is solo acoustic & the other is the Egyptians from the 1988 U.S. tour. Any answers or inquiries are not only appreciated, but Are also treasured as signs that there is caring in the world. gee, it's hard to carry off sarcasm whilst typing, is it not? -ed. rp6123a@american.edu [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Thu, 3 Mar 94 08:25:20 GMT From: smeats@lincoln.gpsemi.com (Steve Meats LDC 2392) To: fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu Subject: Re: agony of pleasure At the start of the track Robyn says 1,2,3,4 backwards. To: "fegmaniax" Okay, well all you contestants pretty much nailed the ruof, eerht, owt, eno question so here's question number two: What is Robyn exclaiming at the very end of Heaven? Right after the last "use your arms, legs, heaven"? It sounds like "Then walk on your own" but can it really be that mundane? Maybe someone who's heard him sing it in concert can shed some light.
