It also mentions that >this guy who is Robyn Hitchcock but not really ('cause it's a pen-name) once >dressed up as Binky the Human Lobster and attempted to kill himself by jumping >out of a window...... > it wouldn't be Neal Williamson, would it? a friend translated some fragments of a Japanese article for me and said that it said that Robyn's real name was Neal Williamson and that he had been in and out of mental clinics for ten years. sounds like it might be this guy Binky. sieben [][][][][][][][][][] Date: Wed, 23 Feb 94 13:35:05 GMT From: S.Roberts@astronomy.cardiff.ac.uk (Simon Roberts) To: owner-fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu Subject: Glass Flesh Does anyone know why Robyn has a glass/flesh fixation? I suppose its like Dali with watches and ants. But there's a reason for the ants. Maybe Robyn cut himself badly when he was young. Each night, around 11-11.30 pm, a leading figure from the world of rock'n'roll (last week it was the singer from Magnapop) reads an extract from a major work of literature (last week: something by John Steinbeck). Next week Robyn will read some of his own work. Jonathan. If not, is there any chance of picking it up in the States on shortwave or something? Help! I only have two Hitchcock-related items to trade in return--all his _Mountian Stage_ U.S. radio appearances (actually, that would make it more than two) and a fairly rare tape of Hitchcock live in Baltimore in 1990-91, both solo (40 mins.) and with the Egyptians (20 mins.), plus I've got lots of REM, Springsteen, and Prince stuff I'd send in return. I've GOTTA hear these stories!!! Much as I love the guy, I'm not sure whether that should come under the heading of Major Works of Literature. Someone (who is not always right) says that the Mark Radcliffe Show is on the World Service ... ? I wouldn't count on it, but it might be worth checking out for those of us not in Radio-1-land at the right times. [][][][][][][][] End of this Fegmaniax Digest.
