Driving Aloud / Winchester / Railway Shoes / The Yip Song / Rainy Twilight Coast / Arms Of Love / Airscape / When I Was Dead / Birds In Perspex / Oceanside / Egyptian Cream / Serpent At The Gates Of Wisdom / Moon Inside / Only The Stones Remain / I Often Dream Of Trains (solo) / Senor, Tales Of Yankee Power (solo) / Wafflehead / The Wreck Of The Arthur Lee / Child Of The Universe Here the setlist ends. Ku Fu Fighting was the final encore, but I can't recall what was between that and COT, if anything. The setlist that I have is the one that was taped to the floor by Robyn's monitor. I was up front watching the show positioned in front of the monitor on Robyn's left. Good place to watch a show. I didn't get the chance to talk to Robyn, although I did get Andy and Morris to sign my copy of 'Element Of Light.' I guess I'll have to track down Robyn on his next tour and complete the autograph collection. Well, the usual modus operandi, in my case at least, and perhaps in many others, is to say - "hey, did you get a tape of that?" And when they say "yeah", I say "wanna trade"? They say "yeah". And so we then exchange lists of various tapes we have, ooh and ahh over each other's lists, and then agree to exchange tapes. Days, weeks, and even months of waiting go by until suddenly, one day, a sedan chair borne by a myriad of ants pulls up in front of my house. Usually a fox, sometimes a basset hound, hops out and trots over to me, dropping the package from their mouths at my feet. I pick up the package, tip the delivery animal copiously, run inside, tear open the package, and stick the tape in the player. Then I get naked and dance to the tape at top volume until exhausted. Collapsing from exhaustion, I usually hit my head on the coffee table, and lapse into a semi-delirium, whereupon visions of the person who sent me the tape haunt me, threatening me with eternal damnation unless I send them a tape, pronto. When I come to I'm usually so shaken by all this that I dupe a copy of whatever it was I was supposed to send, find the nearest idle-looking pigeon, nab it, tie the cassette to the beast's leg, whisper the person's address in the pigeons ear, and toss it up into the air. The pigeon then flutters upwards in ever-widening circles, eventually flying so high that it's lost from view. Eventually the tape must make arrive safely, because I've never had any complaints. (None that I've listened to, anyway.) The above method isn't for everyone though. Both copious sums of money or narcotics have been known to bring good results. If either of those are beyond one's means or principles, then the approach a la eeyore of offering to be a permanent personal house slave/houri is likely to also do the trick. (Watch it though, know before accepting a deal like that houri are very expensive to maintain. Go for the temporary model instead.) Seriously, you want tapes from someone, just ask. I haven't met anyone on this list who makes/trades tapes simply for themselves alone. Even if you have nothing to offer in return, you might cajole someone into making copies of tapes for you. I'll make tapes for anyone, trade or not, provided one doesn't mind waiting. Which reminds me... Herbie - did you get yours? Susan, yours? Woj, my mailbox is yearning patiently. Chris, were we trading? Jim, one of these days. Have I forgotten anyone? On other subjects, I've enjoyed all the set lists people have posted recently. Is it my imagination though, or does this tour's sets seem to have less variety than prior tours? yr. humble servant, Andy From chuck@ssc.space.umn.edu Tue May 25 13:17:49 1993 Received: from mail.unet.umn.edu by wookumz.gnu.ai.mit.edu (5.65/4.0) with SMTP id ; Tue, 25 May 93 13:17:49 -0400 Received: from boombox.micro.umn.edu by mail.unet.umn.edu (5.65c) id AA27225; Tue, 25 May 1993 12:17:48 -0500 Date: Tue, 25 May 93 12:19:44 CDT Message-Id: <9305251719.AA06236@boombox.micro.umn.edu> Received: from ShepLabs08.space.umn.edu by boombox.micro.umn.edu; Tue, 25 May 93 12:19:44 CDT From: "Chuck Tomlinson" Reply-To: "Chuck Tomlinson" To: fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu Subject: Tape of 5.8.93?? It would probably have been before EYE came out, since it was recorded in San Fransisco. It seems though, that this other Cynthia is really the same one as now. > but who are Trudy & Carolyn? All I know about RH is that he lives in Trudi had been the Fan Club coordinator up until the last album. She's listed on many of the album liner notes since fegMANIA! Carolyn had done the discography that the Fan Club published in 1988. A better discography came out in Goldmine sometime last year though (it included everything up to Live Death -- I never saw the Goldmine though, only heard about it second hand.) Both Trudi and Carolyn live in the NYC area. > PS the 1st time I heard _Ted, Woody & Junior_ was when my freind Tom, > who is a gay male, played it for me because he loved it & thought it > was hilarious. Also - there's far worse things to be compared to than hey, this is interesting to know. I always wondered how someone gay would react to the song. sieben From silva@mond1.ccrc.uga.edu Tue May 25 16:48:40 1993 Received: from mond1.ccrc.uga.edu by wookumz.gnu.ai.mit.edu (5.65/4.0) with SMTP id ; Tue, 25 May 93 16:31:44 -0400 Received: by mond1.ccrc.uga.edu (5.57/Ultrix3.0-C) id AA04150; Tue, 25 May 93 16:27:37 -0400 Message-Id: <9305252027.AA04150@mond1.ccrc.uga.edu> To: fegmaniax@gnu.ai.mit.edu Subject: RoByn....
