Okay Kerry, since nobody else has picked up on your "D" - why the last cruise? I'm noticing more and more "solo" acts, performances, discs etc. on the newsletters. Is the group fizzling out? I think their music is getting better and better and I sure hope not. Anyone have an inside track here? Note to self - the new cd's will make great Christmas gifts (okay Holiday gifts, gotta be PC). Anyone know a place that sells them locally in NoVa? Thoughts anyone? The other band members probably need some money, so are playing more solo gigs. I'm hoping this is it and that the band will continue touring as usual. Ohio needs some EFO love! This was a show that had been canceled twice before due to Julie's illness, but this time they made it out to Colorado and played four dates in various parts of the state. Compared to the several times I'd seen EFO previously, there were some subtle changes. - they were touring the state with an opener. They've often said in the past that they hate openers, but this gave them a chance to cut the show down a bit. I've seen them play 2.5 hour shows in the past, but the Denver show ran about 1:45. Still pretty long by modern-day concert standards, but a little shorter than what I've come to expect from an EFO show. - Julie's voice seemed a little more frail than she has sounded in the past. She was hitting all the right notes, but not quite with the power she's shown before. But she did sing some hard songs, like Hey Little Man. - There were a lot more songs than usual that featured Robbie on lead vocals. Again, I'm wondering if this was to give Julie a chance to rest. Michael also did one solo song from his new solo album ("Boxes" - a very touching tune). It was a good show, and it was certainly good to see them out on the road again. But it didn't sound like they were running quite at 100% yet. It's got to be difficult, given all that Julie has been through. Anyone have an inside track here? Yeah, Kerry--what's the skinny? It'd suck if it WERE the last cruise. My 10 year old daughter is very excited to go to the 5:00 show and plans on sitting in the front row! She has not seen the band since we saw them for the very first time at the Kate Wolf Music Festival a few years back. I am the lucky one who gets to stay for the 8:00 show while my dear husband takes her home. See you there! Anyone have an inside track here? I can't speak for the band, but they've obviously cut back on touring quite a bit. I know on the last cruise they were unsure if they would have another one or not, and I personally would not count on there being a 6th one (otherwise I might sit this one out as Jill will be in school and can't come). I think the music will continue as long as it can, but it'll be tough to tour as much as the kids grow older. I have not seen them since '05 Falcon Ridge and miss the live shows so much. My heart goes out to them as this has been a rough year. - -Gabrielle On Oct 16, 2006, at 2:26 PM, hemisphire1@hemisphire.com wrote: >> d) Cruise #5. November 1-5, 2007.
