I knew about Robbie's New Year's Eve show, but now there's this: Friday January 6 $10 8PM acoustic folk/rock Mike Clem (from Eddie from Ohio) CD Release show with guests! After 15 years with Eddie from Ohio, and after forty years on the planet, songwriter/guitarist/bassist/vocalist/harp player/reluctant trombonist Michael Clem releases his first solo CD. "1st & 40" contains 11 new original songs by Clem, produced by fellow band member/percussion ace, Eddie Hartness. Be the first on your block, the first in your carpool, the first in your homeroom, the first in your spin class to secure a copy of this brand-spankin' new album. Opening the show will be the lovely Irish vocal stylings of hometown Sarah Croker (by way of the County Tipperary). Special guests are expected. Unruly hecklers are anticipated. Hobos are turned away. Shirts and shoes are required. "reluctant trombonist"? Ok, you know I'll be there anyway. I meant to write in to tell everyone what a great show the MikeandRobbie Solo show was at the IronHorse last Sunday. I have Robbie's latest solo album, so I pretty much knew what to expect from his set, but I was really impressed with Mike's set. He's a great flattop picker, and I admit that I have a soft spot for his writing. There's something really sweet behind the humor in his songs. In any case, I'm eagerly awaiting his solo album - Go see him if you can!
