I just thought of another way that Edheads can show support for Julie - -and- raise money for The Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Friday, October 7th is the 10th anniversary of Lee National Denim Day. You can register your company for it and then people can donate $5 to wear your jeans to work on that day and the money goes to the foundation. To sign up or for more info, visit www.denimday.com. I'm going to my company with it{though one of our building always has jeans day on Fridays}. Two other things I've seen in the stores: It's again time for M & Ms to have their breast cancer awareness pink M & Ms. You get chocolate -and- 50 cents from each bag goes to the Komen Foundation. Better Homes & Gardens has issied their limited edition 'Pink Plaid' Cookbook which proceeds from go to the Komen Foundation{they list on the back a minimum donation of I -think- $250,000...I just glanced at the back} So...yeah.....just a few ideas. ~Shells~ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Sep 2005 18:17:37 -0400 From: Michelle Sholley Subject: an even -better- way to help Ok, this might be 'pushing the envelope', but after posting stuff about great ways to help out the Breast Cancer awareness fund, I started thinking about the -smaller- picture---the BAND itself. Not -only- are they all going through this awful situation, but so many cancelled shows/ticket sales hits them right in the pocketbook. What, you ask, is the best way to show the band that you care? BUY MERCH!!!! It's the gift that keeps on giving!!!! T-shirts for the dog.....CDs for your cousin who thinks that Jack Johnson invented folk. The holidays are coming---shop early, avoid the rush!!!!! - -AND- there's also a 'Back to School Special' for 'THREE ROOMS' on sale there for JUST $10!!!!! What -better- way to turn someone on to EFO...and at a bargain price????!!!!! And it's getting chillier.....PERFECT hoodie weather!!!! So that's my suggestion. Go to bulletproofstore.com and stock up on merch. It'll make you feel all warm & fuzzy inside. Thanks for your time. ~Shells~ ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V8 #104 *****************************
