Not very practical, unless we do it on the web. So here's what I'm thinking - we could all make little .jpgs of messages to Julie, then I'd stitch them together and put them up as a web page. (please not today because I'm seeing Girlyman tonight and won't have time). And some size limits? Another thing I decided to do was to take my money from refunded tickets (the Lime Kiln show, and most likely the Charlottesville show, too), and split that between next year's JDRF walk and Relay for Life. Is anyone besides Shelly on the Bubba's Buddies team for the JDRF walk? Now that I don't work weekends anymore, I want to walk next year. I know it's early, but are those donation sites still up/up for next year? Click on Start, then Run. Type "mspaint" into the box that comes up, then click Ok. Click on the 'A' on the left hand side, then click on a color on the bottom. Then hold down your left mouse button in the middle and drag it down and to the right and a blue box will appear - release the mouse when it's big enough for your message. Type your message (you can right click and choose Text Toolbar if you want to change the font), then click on File, then Save. Click on save as type and change it to jpeg, then give it a file name and click Save. Attach that file to an email, then send it to me. Let's set a deadline of tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6PM EST so I can get it out Wednesday night. Kerry nichole wrote: > I think this sounds like a good idea. A quick web search reveals that Takeout Taxi usually offers gift certificates - you have to contact the franchisee for the region you're looking for, though. Baja Fresh and some others sell their gift certificates online. waitless.com offers the ability to pick up your order, but it's tied to a specific credit card - no other payment options yet. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Sep 2005 15:44:09 +0000 From: "jen Schimmenti" Subject: Re: eCard for Julie Hi meg - Jen here, and I've been doing a lot of the coordination for Julie for Bubba's Buddies for the last three years, setting up the webpages, organizing shirts, sending team emails etc etc. The more the merrier on the team, but we likely won't have any details on that until the Spring, though I do know that the date of the JDRF walk next year is set for Sunday, May 7th as of right now. Julie has also been a supporter of another 5K Charity I'm a part of, which is for the Komen National Race for the Cure. Our friend Shawn organizes Team Heather, in honor of his youngest sister who lost her battle with breast cancer a few years ago. The past two years I've thrown a birthday party for myself and used it as a fundraiser for the teams. In a not so great twist of fate about a month ago, Julie, Shawn and I discussed doing some kind of large fundraiser this Spring and splitting the proceeds between Bubba's Buddies and Team Heather. That's as far as the discussion got given the past couple of weeks, but hopefully we'll pick it back up in the near future and get to organizing. The Race for the Cure in DC is always the first Saturday in June. I'll keep the list posted on Bubba's Buddies happednings and potential Breast Cancer charity happenings as I know them. In the meantime, everyone keep up the prayer and positive thoughts.
