Even their usual banter seemed a bit sluggish. The songs that they did play were performed well enough to their standards and do not get me wrong, I am always glad to see them live, even if they only sing one song. This is meant to be constructive criticism that anyone who is close to the band who reads this might be inclined to pass along to them. In that vein, I want to lodge a suggestion. The Q&A session concept is not a bad one, but they went back to it too often for my taste. It seemed to detract from the rthymn and chemistry flow that has always built up from song to song in their sets. They played less music than usual and the newbie EFO virgin we had brought with us had no clue what was being talked about when obscure "Edhead" type questions were presented about songs that anyone who was seeing them for the first time had never heard. It might have been nice for them to actually play the songs that they explained, even though I realize sometimes that is not ideal without rehearsal. I would suggest maybe a single, longer break in the middle of their set for a 10 minute Q&A session would work perfectly, rather than three sessions awkwardly paced within the set. I do not mean to be a downer about this, its just the feeling I came away with when the concert was finished. Looking forward to FRFF.
