I thought it had a rough start and Julie just seemed really goofy in my opinion. Almost like she was punch drunk or something. It was weird. As the night went on the sound quality seemed to get better but they were still having problems with some of the equipment. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Oct 2004 20:05:07 -0400 From: rhiannon richard Subject: Re: Grey Eagle Tavern Show (and the cradle) Hey. I was really excited by the Asheville show, and I thought it lived up pretty well, especially for a thursday night. At very end of the night, when they played "old dominion" i realized that I hadn't even noticed that they hadn't played it until that point. To me that's good, when i think the rest of the set is so fulfilling that i don't even notice the lack of certain other songs that i like to hear. i was very excited that they sent congratulations out for me since i'm getting married this summer... and of course, there was the fact that they played "best of me" as the closest they could come to an engagement song. silly efo :) I also loved the cradle show. char, steven, and i were selling merch, and heard only a couple of comments from people who were disappointed in the change of venues from the arts center. i've always been a big fan of the cradle, and not such a big fan of the arts center. I also heard that the cradle treated them really really well, which was wonderful to hear. anyhow, did anybody by ANY chance tape the asheville show? it would mean so much to me to have it, since my fiance, zach, wasn't there to hear the congrats. see some of you at the handlebar- rhiannon At 08:56 AM 10/10/2004 -0400, Jennifer Kirkby wrote: >What did anyone think of the Asheville show? Last year was on a Friday or Saturday and lots of Greenville people drove up. As far as the band was concerned-- thought it was a great show. Did I meet you or do i know you, by the way? I was selling merch. with Charlotte and Rhiannon. - ---steven > > From: "Jennifer Kirkby" > Date: 2004/10/10 Sun AM 08:56:54 EDT > To: > Subject: Grey Eagle Tavern Show > > What did anyone think of the Asheville show? That was very nice of them to dedicate the song to you. I enjoyed that part of the show very much. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 10 Oct 2004 21:44:18 -0400 From: "Jennifer Kirkby" Subject: Re: Grey Eagle Tavern Show No, we did not meet. We skedaddled after the show. I guess you are right maybe it was the crowd that made it kind of blaw or something. I just did not think it was as good as last years. To me something was funky with the sound. It could also be the acoustics in the club or something. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V7 #150 *****************************
