Here's an item submitted to today's chat that might amuse this crowd: I had a friend in college who was into all things Japanese, and had several t-shirts with Japanese characters on them (which he couldn't read). One day an actual Japanese person saw him, cracked up, and informed him that his prized shirt actually read, "I am a stupid American." Perhaps a new line of EFO merchandise? CDs available. First four responses get the CDs. I'm asking the 5$ I paid + shipping charges (probably about $1 + $1.50 via USPS). Any takers? =============== Stuart Kerry Frey wrote: > I've made artwork for the EP I thought I'd share: > http://www.hemisphire.com/efo/efo_ep_card.jpg > http://www.hemisphire.com/efo/efo_ep_booklet.jpg > > It ain't that pretty, but it was quickly done. > > Kerry ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2004 21:02:28 -0400 From: "Benjamin C. Of course, that was before Fishbowl was released. I know we weren't the only ones. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-edheads@efohio.com [mailto:owner-edheads@efohio.com] On Behalf Of James Scales Sent: Tuesday, September 21, 2004 1:45 PM To: edheads@efohio.com Subject: Indirect Fishbowl reference Gene Weingarten is a humor columnist for the Washington Post who hosts an online chat on Tuesdays. If you have never heard of them, shame on you; you definitely need to give them a listen. I know there are great friends with EFO and performed together on a couple of shows this past year. I thought I would forward this message I received from L&N earlier today, in case there are L&N fans out there who didn't get the message. - -Jeff - -----Original Message----- From: Lowen & Navarro [mailto:lownav@topica.email-publisher.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 11:45 AM Subject: A Walk To D'Feat ALS To our good friends: With our new CD just out, we have been writing you more than usual lately, announcing tours, introducing music, saying "attend this, buy that, join here, donate there", and we are aware that we are asking you for more support than ever. Many of you already know that, in March, Eric Lowen was diagnosed with ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease. Among the many ways we will be trying to combat this devestating affliction, our Fanclub President, Sara Luongo, has joined a "Walk to D'feat ALS" being held October 10 in Washington DC. Sara is requesting sponsorships to raise funds for the DC-Maryland-Virginia chapter of the ALS Association. She has targeted $5000 as a goal, and is actually nearly 60% there after only a couple of weeks. We thought we would mention it to you, should any of you choose to help her in this effort. Even a small donation, multiplied by the size of our list, could bring enormous rewards and far surpass her initial goal. Won't you take a second to visit the link below and see what Sara is doing? The link is "http://lownav.c.topica.com/maacF0jabacczb4DqfLbaehoil/" where you will find Sara's page with her statement and progress chart, as well as other information on ALS and the ALS Association. A note in the interest of full disclosure: The ALS Association is a national organization with many local chapters. The DC-MD-VA Chapter is conducting this Walk, with many such Walks nationwide to be sponsored by other local chapters. Most of the proceeds from this walk -- 80% -- will remain in the DC-MD-VA area for local assistance. The remaining 20% will go to the National organization to research a cure for this horrible. And because Eric lives in LA, none of the proceeds will go to help him directly. That's not a bad thing, but we thought you should know. We hope you choose to support Sara in the noble cause. And thanks from us for your patience and ongoing dedication to us and our music.
