Do you have trouble with http://eddiefromohio.com/efo_flash.html ? Since I upgraded to Panther a month or so ago, Safari will no longer load the content in the news sections. The flash menus all work fine. It didn't bother me much, since the page would still work in Mozilla, Internet Explorer and Netscape. However, in the past week or so, all of those other browsers simply "unexpectantly quits" upon trying to load that page. I have reinstalled Flash, and have confirmed the installation with the test links provided by Macromedia. No other site I've tried has problems. I'm wondering if there is something specific to this website. Thanks, David ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Jun 2004 16:12:12 -0400 From: "F. Tarek Rogers" Subject: Re: EFO website and Mac OS X I believe safari 1.2 broke it, yes. I say safari rather than panther because OmniWeb 5 uses WebCore from Safari 1.0 and it still works fine. Can't help you with the mozilla problem however, firefox/mozilla load it fine for me. t > Any Mac users out there? This is a potentially insecure operation. Do you want to allow it?". When I click "allow", the news section loads fine. FYI, this is in Mozilla on a PC - IE on a PC has no such problem. When I go to the Flash page, then go to a different site or close the window, IE crashes. I updated Windows and reinstalled Flash, and it's still crashing - doesn't happen with other flash sites I've seen. - -- Joni On Wed, 16 Jun 2004 15:44:02 -0400, "David Turley" said: > Any Mac users out there? The EFO site calls content from an address starting with www, while they are using no www in the url. Flash thinks it's an external site. it's something the webmaster is doing wrong. From the responses, my guess is the site does something a little non-spec that causes the newest flash plugin to bomb. Hopefully, the webmaster will update the sight to work with most current plugin version. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V7 #83 ****************************
