I haven't heard them do Stay, Clear and Present Danger (on Robbie's CD) or The Bird, but I think they have played those at other shows. I have mixed feelings about Robbie going electric. In my opinion, he's a much better acoustic guitar player. I was hoping that he would have done some more lead stuff, but that wasn't really the case. Isn't the sound in the Kent Stage fantastic?! By the way, I've been in touch with the guy who taped the show (and he does a fantastic job), so I'll let everyone on here know when he puts this show up for download! Hi all! I went to the show on Friday and it was nice to see EFO live again! They did in fact spend the last 3 weeks in the studio and played a few tunes that will be on the new disc, including Stay, Alone, Baltimore, Clear and Present Danger, and my personal favorite, The Bird. Mike wrote the last one after getting cut off and then flipped off - fast and funny. They did play a few songs I hadn't heard in a while - Train Song, Similie Song - and I was impressed with some of the new songs. Can't wait for the new disc, which should be available in the fall. I think with so much of a break since the last album, not everything new they've played will get on the new CD. :( In case you haven't seen it yet, Robbie broke out the electric guitar Friday night for The Bird and Eddie's Concubine. Yet another twist in the ever-evolving EFO sound! Also, when they came out for an encore, they let the audience vote from three audience choices - New James Bond, Fifth of July, and Hey Little Man (the winner). Overall, a great show and I'm looking forward to seeing upcoming setlists. Have all of these new songs I've mentioned been played before or are any of them new? Brendan P.S. And per Ben's request, they did play Don't Think Twice! - -----Original Message----- From: owner-edheads@efohio.com [mailto:owner-edheads@efohio.com] On Behalf Of Benjamin C. Edheads, Just a friendly reminder that EFO will be playing the Kent Stage, Kent, OH this Friday, June 11th. The Kent Stage is a great venue with excellent acoustics. This will be EFO's 3rd trip to Kent (2nd Kent Stage show), so come out and have a good time! Tickets are $12 advance, $14 at the door, and seating is GA. If Brian Skalinder comes, you can expect a great recording of the concert to be made available at archive.org! I sent the band an e-mail requesting Don't Think Twice, It's Alright, so here's hoping they play that one! Ben ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jun 2004 08:12:47 -0400 From: "Brendan" Subject: Robbie on Electric guitar It was hard to tell with just two songs how good an electric guitar player Robbie is, but I think they had technical problems for the beginning of The Bird. It seemed that Robbie was having problems with the pedal - his feed wasn't switching over to the Gibson, so you couldn't hear anything for the first verse. Even still, I thought it was almost difficult to hear him playing - maybe it was just my ears.
