This got sent to me instead of the list. Thought I'd pass it on. :) Jennifer Horak wrote:Hey all you Edheads, I wouldn't miss the show for anything, but while I am there, I'll check out the Geneva Argentine Tango community that's dancing upstairs in the rehearsal space. I might even dance once or twice with my sweetie. Anyhow, it's really worth taking a look. Entrance is outside the Opera House on the left. See y'all there at the show. It's outdoors at an old lime quarry (thus the name) out in the middle of nowhere. The crickets and cows make for a really cool experience. Lots of people show up very early with picnic baskets and wine, and have lunch/dinner in the meadow that doubles as a parking lot. Very fun. Kids seem to work out fine, I've seen many babies and delinquent youth at EFO shows there in the past. - -T ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Apr 2004 15:14:05 +0000 From: "jen studt" Subject: THANKS EDHEADS! Thanks to all the Edheads (and other locals) for coming out to Ben & Jerry's free cone day yesterday. After the last scoop was scooped and the doors were closed, Bubba's Buddies counted up $1,575.05 in donations for the day! Julie wanted to pass on her thanks to those who came out to show your support, to say hi or to laugh at Eddie, Mike and Robbie behind the counter - - hey, how come Robbie didn't have to wear a hair net?! Pictures will come at some point, I promise. And you can still support Julie and Greg's Team for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk for the Cure on May 16th. Details, along with Julie's latest journal entry (don't miss her latest American Idol Rant) are posted on the news page of www.eddiefromohio.com Thanks again all! It is a small, outdoor setting, in the woods. You get to be pretty close to the stage and the sound is very good. The show usually starts as the sun is setting and goes into darkness, so it can get a little cool as the evening goes by. Reserved seats last time where metal folding chairs sitting on mulch. The unreserved lawn area is ok, but not very big. We tailgate before the show. The band seems to really like this place also. Last time they had to compete with some mooing cows in a nearby pasture. We sat next to sound man BOB and his mixing board last time I was there, and that was fun seeing him perform his duties. All in all, a great place to see EFO. In my past experiences, and being a parent of a young child that also loves EFO, if the band notices a large number of young kids in the audience, they have sometimes toned down some of the more "controversial" verses of certain songs, or at least they are mindful of how they perform certain lyrics in respect to the younger audiences. I give Lime Kiln high marks!! Darren E. I'm so glad to hear that this is a nice venue - I'm leaving my home in Western Massachusetts in the wee hours of May 22 and driving the 9 hours down to Virgina to visit my parents for the week. When I heard that EFO was playing that same evening only a half hour from where my parents live, I immediately bought us all reserved seat tickets. I'll be a little road-weary but I know it will be worth it. This will be my 14th EFO show, Dad's third, and Mom's second. Finally my parents and I can agree on something!
