Galizio" Subject: New Robbie CD Got the new Robbie CD in the mail today. I listened to it during dinner after a stressful day. Very soothing! Robbie solo is a very different beast from the full-on EFO. I don't think I could have listened to EFO today, but this CD hit the spot. If you haven't bought it yet, do so. Sound quality is excellent, song selection is excellent. Only issue I have is with Independence Indiana - that song really just needs Julie singing. However, it is a cool take on it hearing Robbie solo. This room has been around in various forms for over 30 years. It's the coziest place (about 100 seats coffee house style) of the 4 times I've heard the band play since becoming a fan last year at the Philly Folk Festival. Robbie had played solo at The Point 3 weeks before. After reminding him that night that he had remarked last fall in a conversation about playing the auditorium at the Jewish Community Center near Baltimore that he had played Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof in middle school, I cajoled (translation = harassed) him into sharing a little Fiddler at this past week's show. Three generations were celebrating my father-in-law, Chuck's 75th birthday. Anyway, the band did a 5 minute riff on Fiddler including Robbie shimmying to "If I Were a Rich Man", Robbie and Julie doing the movie scene "... but do your love me?", and finally Julie doing an Ethel Merman voiced Sunrise, Sunset after Mike remarked that her Jewish accent resembled Merman or Carole Channing, he couldn't figure which. All in all, the funniest semi-impromptu routine I've witnessed with this talented, entertaining, and versatile band in the past 7 months. Last note - Chuck got up and did a great "Joe" for Three Fine Daughters and got a remark from Mike, "He got game" - Joel from Maryland BTW, rest of the show was classic EFO - nice mix of old and new with loving hype for Robbie's solo CD, released the day before ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2004 20:54:27 -0800 From: "Matte Edens" Subject: RE: Bryn Mawr, PA show Anybody taping that night? matte - ----Original Message Follows---- From: StardocJG@aol.com To: edheads@efohio.com Subject: Bryn Mawr, PA show Date: Thu, 11 Mar 2004 21:40:36 EST All - Last Saturday, EFO played The Point, a venue outside Philly in Bryn Mawr.
