My good friend Anna, who is hiking the Appalachian Trail (and as she told Mike Clem outside the venue in her sweet southern Georgia drawl, 'I hiked 650 miles for this show!), managed to sweet-talk her way into that sold-out gig, and apparently was the recipient of some good-natured banter as well as an impromptu serenade from stage. I just wondered if anybody on this list was there to witness that? I wasn't there, but I WAS the lucky recipient of a phone call on Saturday, describing the entire experience to me in great detail. Anna is, among other things, a cellist extraordinaire, and has played with several folk artists, both live and in the studio - among them, Christine Lavin, Don White, Lynn Miles, and Matt Watroba. She also plays string and slap bass and has a thing for Mike Clem because of it ;-), and would love nothing better than to someday have the chance to play a mean folkin' cello with her favorite band on the planet, EFO. So, JulieMikeEddieRobbie, if you're reading this, remember "A.T. Anna" from the Great Barrington show, cuz I know this woman, and if she says someday she wants to play cello with y'all, she will make it happen!! See you in Kalamazoo! The crowd was really into it - it's nice when I'm not the only one jumping in my seat the whole night... The venue was nice, and the band was available after the show. They signed my daughter's tee shirt, and posed for a picture with her - she's still in the clouds.... :-) It looks like they won't be back for a while... San Francisco is looking good for a mid-winter road trip... dave - -----Original Message----- From: ext Scott & Trea McReynolds [mailto:puddytat@gis.net] Sent: Sunday, September 14, 2003 11:07 AM To: Efolist Subject: Saturday nights show WOW WOW WOW WOW AND WOW GREAT show as always.
