Considering the amount of people who were there on Thursday, it made perfect sense. Some people felt that 4 days was too long though. Anyone here felt that way? I LOVED it at 4 days, and as long as you know how to pace yourself, drink plenty of fluids, and get enough rest by just relaxing, you won't feel exhausted by Saturday like some people I know were. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "nichole" To: Sent: Friday, August 08, 2003 11:23 AM Subject: Re: FRFF Highlight Question, pictures, setlists > I just found out (from someone on the nield's nook) that FRFF will officially be 4 days long next year. :) > > nichole > > John Ryan wrote: > Best jam we've ever had up there, so I > hope next year at FRFF, even more people can join the mayhem of the big > Thursday night Fruvous/EFO/Nields/TMBG/GBS/Dar/Beatles/Whatever comes to mind singalong! > > > > > > nichole > IM: Poetrygrl8 > "why do we insist on killing people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?" > Yahoo! I always arrive early, and this year i stayed late, so it really made the festival six days long. But there are a lot of people that mean a lot to me that i only get to see at FR. Being there with them for 6 days instead of 4 made my life a lot happier. Besides, with the busses running, it's not that bad. (we camp at the very very top of the hill along the treeline)... and besides, an extra day of awesome music and FR spirit is just what i needed in the middle of my busy working summer... so yeah, i love it being 4 days. :) nichole John Ryan wrote: Some people felt that 4 days was too long though. Although I'd love to take that extra day off from work it now means burning two vacation days - oh, to be unemployed again and have time ... I found it tough to pace myself with the extra day - I was a crispy critter by the time the welcoming rain came on Sunday. I had planned to leave early but had to stay for Vance and then reasoned that It was only a few more hours to close with the Neilds - especially with the full band onstage. My only regret was that I didn't make it down to camp edhead. I wanted to meet everyone and share in the EFO experience. Next year for sure !! - - dave nichole wrote: I absolutely LOVED it as four days. I always arrive early, and this year i stayed late, so it really made the festival six days long. (well, as far as the summer goes, once school starts it will be less, thank god)... but when i took the job at the beginning of the summer i told them i wouldn't work there unless i could get that time off. luckily our bosses realize how hard we all work and have NO problem giving us vacation time. nichole David Fonzi wrote: oh, to be unemployed again and have time ... nichole IM: Poetrygrl8 "why do we insist on killing people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?" Apparently Winterhawk wasn't doing that well so they decided to add a few bluegrassy bands to Falcon Ridge and add an extra day. I did find Thursday a little slow, but I don't see a problem with 4 days. The price has not been raised for the extra day, and you don't have to go all 4 days if you don't want to. What we learned this year is that most of the people who attend do so only on Saturday and/or Sunday. Most of the tickets sold are for one day. So look at it as a buffet from which you can pick what days and performers you choose. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V6 #139 *****************************
