I noticed that when I read it, because Meredith had to leave before EFO ever arrived. I have only one trick to tell them apart (unless they are carrying instruments). If you are close enough to look at a finger, Meredith wears a wedding ring and Chris doesn't. :) Oh, and both of the wonderful sisters are playing my living room on September 21. If you live anywhere near Boston (or want to visit) and are interested in that concert or Sam Shaber (August 22) or Anne Heaton (October 5), e-mail me and I'll send you more information. I need to get a website up. :) Good meeting some of you briefly. Next5t year I'll try to hang out longer. I did find my friends with the paw print flag at their campsite. Thanks for the directions! Bad idea, that is the 2nd of Robbie's solo "Recorded for a Live album" shows at Jammin' Java. Got my tickets for both shows all set!!! It's only going to be the 2nd time I've seen a show in Virginia (Davinci's Notebook at a high school benefit), and my first trip to Jammin' Java . I am really psyched! Oh, Meredith Thompson came by the Budgiedome on Thursday night at Falcon Ridge while we were playing Psycho Killer. She was just standing there enjoying it all, it was awesome. Best jam we've ever had up there, so I hope next year at FRFF, even more people can join the mayhem of the big Thursday night Fruvous/EFO/Nields/TMBG/GBS/Dar/Beatles/Whatever comes to mind singalong! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joy Elyse Greenwald" To: Sent: Friday, August 08, 2003 8:14 AM Subject: Re: FRFF Highlight Question, pictures, setlists > > i'm guessing (process of elimination after looking > > at the rest of the > > list) that you mean Chris Thompson. Tix are $34 reserved and $20 for lawn. Hmmm... I think I might do lawn (might be a different choice if you'd asked me in 1985). M. Mayhew" Subject: Wolf Trap Ticket quandary Here is my quandary. The Wolf Trap box office starts selling tickets for The Barns 2003/2004 season this coming Monday at 10:00. Obviously, you can also buy tickets from Ticketmaster.com at that same time (I get annoyed by their extra fees). Because I want really good seats for a certain show, I am considering going to the box office when it opens on Monday morning. Then I had a thought -- what if the box office only has access to SOME chunks of tickets (i.e., what if they they partitioned a chunk to Ticketmaster, and neither group can access the other's chunk of tickets)? What if I get down to Wolf Trap to buy tickets in the first five rows, but I wind up much farther back because they "sold those off" to Ticketmaster? I don't know how much experience anyone on this list has with buying directly from the Wolf Trap box office, but any advice would be appreciated. Note: I am also going to call the box office this afternoon and ask them about this (and will post their answer for confirmation). Thanks! What they DO do is reserve some seats for artists, press and major donors. These are prime seats but limited in quantity. 2) The Barns holds 352 people. There are only 5 rows in the balcony. I have sat in the "worst" row in the Barns and it still beats row b at Merriweather. So just go to the Box Office and you will be happy with the seats REGARDLESS of where you end up. First of all, Wolf Trap doesn't work with ticketmaster. They work with tickets.com (formerly Protix). Their number is 703-218-6500, or you can go to www.tickets.com. Second of all, tickets.com and Wolf Trap have the same ticket allocation -- anything you see at one, they will have at the other -- it's all the same computer system. Thirdly, Wolf Trap is a not-for-profit organization, which means they have members. These members are permitted to purchase tickets early to all shows. So if the first five rows are sold out, it is not because tickets have been allocated to tickets.com, it is because they were purchased in advance by members, or they are being held for various reasons (ADA compliance, artist tickets, etc.) Your best bet is to go to the Wolf Trap box office and wait in line. There are no service charges at the Box Office, and they will have the exact same tickets they have through tickets.com.
