A lot of Fruvous fans (myself included) have been without Fruvous playing for over 2 years now and are looking for any sign of them ending the hiatus. I would say there is a 99% chance they won't be playing at Falcon Ridge this year. But it would be the icing on the cake if they were! Looking forward to meeting lots of new friends this summer in Hillsdale! - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Meg Massie" To: "John Ryan" ; Sent: Wednesday, April 23, 2003 4:45 PM Subject: Re: FRFF > I was just asking! Anyone want to give > advice on how the social scene works out there? ;) (Warning to Californians: America West has a temptingly cheap flight that leaves Boston at 9 PM and gets to SFO at 2 AM. Do not take this flight, for it is an intimation of Hell.) I love FRFF, though I may or may not be going this year. The social scene is relaxed and friendly; just strike up a conversation with anyone who looks friendly. > I'm totally looking forward to this festival. So > exciting to see just about all of my favorite bands in > one place at one time. Yes, that's a huge attraction. But don't forget the singalongs, dancing, etc., that also form integral parts of the Falcon Ridge experience. >Any advice for us first timers about the camping situation? Should we get >there early to claim our ground? YES. The good spots go fast. Get there Wednesday evening. For those FRFF first-timers out there: Picture a fairly steep hill. At the bottom of the hill, in a broad sort of hollow, is the festival area: the stages, the food [1], the crafts, etc. At the top of the hill is the main camping area. [2] Ideally, you want a flat spot as close to the festival as possible. These go fast. The BudgieDome is a large pavilion slightly to the left of the mainstage (looking up the hill). You can't miss it... really, you can't. > Is it cool if we have a tent the size of, >say, a small apartment? I'd imagine that truly profligate wastes of space are frowned on, but I've never heard of any sort of official sanctions on space-wasters. - --nicole twn [1] The cheapest food is to be had in under the really big tent, where the volunteers eat. But you come out ahead if you bring your own food. [2] There's a smaller camping area at the bottom of the hill. *** "The decline in American pride, patriotism, and piety can be directly attributed to the extensive reading of so-called 'science fiction' by our young people."--Jerry Falwell Visit www.nicolopolis.com ... digital drivel for a weary world. ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V6 #66 ****************************
