Very interesting... Arlington, VA, April 1 (Rolling Stone) -- Two diametrically opposed worlds of music collided today when it was announced Virginia based folk group Eddie From Ohio (http://eddiefromohio.com/) would be joining the lineup on this summer's Ozzfest (http://www.ozzfest.com/) tour, which kicks off June 28 in San Antonio. Headlined by Ozzy Osbourne and featuring such hard rock acts as Korn, Marilyn Manson, and Disturbed, the addition of Eddie From Ohio, known by their fans as EFO, is seen as an attempt to attract a more diverse fan base to the annual headbanger festival. At a press conference today, The Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, explained his decision to add the acoustic band to the bill: "We *expletive deleted* can only have so many *expletive deleted* electric *expletive deleted* guitars and Marshall *expletive deleted* amplifiers, you know? We looked around for something different, some *expletive deleted* acoustic band that still *expletive deleted* rocked. We wanted a folk group but we didn't want any *expletive deleted* like James *expletive deleted* Taylor." Osbourne went on to praise the band, saying "These kids *expletive deleted* kick *expletive deleted* ass. The singer, she's like a *expletive deleted* angel and you got two *expletive deleted* great guitar players, Rob and that other guy, Mick or something. And that kid on the *expletive deleted* bongos! He's *expletive deleted* amazing! It's like Keith Moon crash landed on *expletive deleted* Gilligan's Island!" The band, who are not actually from Ohio, were equally excited. "This gives us a chance to play to a different crowd", said guitarist Robbie Schaefer, "and besides, a lot of our current fans are ex-metal heads who grew up, got married and had children of their own. Most of the kids at Ozzfest will trade in their Metallica t-shirts for minivans in a few years so seeing us will be like looking into their own future." Asked how the Ozzy festival will differ from the earthy-crunchy folk festivals they're used to playing, such as this summer's Falcon Ridge, bassist Mike Clem said "Well, frankly, the fans might smell a bit better." When asked for comment, percussionist Eddie Hartness simply thrust his fist into the air, extended his index finger and pinky in the classic heavy metal sign and screamed "Ozzy rules!"
