The Bardic allusions keep emerging. . .If you look on the cover at the top of the case carried by Bob the Bellboy, there is a section of sticker with a stained glass window and the words "tenance Shop" written beneath it. This is a sticker from the "Maintenance Shop", a live entertainment venue located in the basement of the Student Union at Iowa State University. EFO has played the "M-Shop" many times (and will in less than two weeks); however, the historical relevance to the Maintenance Shop is that is that it actually served as the boiler/maintenance area until the early 1970's. The M-Shop's previous incarnation as a boiler room is OBVIOUSLY an additional reference to Macbeth, "Double, double, toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble." Additionally, the M-Shop's decor is still reminiscent of it's boiler room days and its location in the basement is indicative of the darker elements of the subconscious previously noted by Nicole. However, the addition of stained glass windows to the venue (which are backlit) give us a glimpse of a higher power; an opportunity to look beyond the base desires which govern our thoughts to a more glorious reason for existance--the music of Eddie From Ohio. Finally, the Iowa State Student Union also includes a hotel, where EFO is rumored to have stayed. Perhaps an inspiration for Bob's attire? It was a fabulous night of EFO despite no fireworks. Not being able to see them there on the 4th of July as James stated will be a major disappointment. However, there may be the possibility that EFO may have another engagement that day as a band or with their families and hence were unable to play the Wintergreen gig. However, I'm going to go with the benefit of the doubt and email Wintergreen to let them know where my money will not be spent this year for the 4th. ============ Stuart Meg Massie wrote: > No EFO this 4th of July at Wintergreen?!
