Three Rooms arrived today (Thanks Patty!). I am listening to it right now. It is making me so happy. I'm only three songs in, but so far it is a great recording. It really captures the energy of a live show. So far, no banter. I'm still hoping for it. It's one of my favorite parts of Portable EFO show. Joy Elyse Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Hi Everyone, I just got back from Vacation yesterday and now in today's mail I found my copy of "Three Rooms" - so of course have already listened to it end to end. Lots of good recordings but my first impression has been that some of the transitions between songs didn't seem to flow - it made for a somewhat choppy listen. With that said I still know it will grow on me and that it will become another favorite of mine given several more listens. I was fortunate enough to be one of the 6000 or so at the Wolftrap on July 20th and remember how good it was - especially when they brought out the Fillmore Horns and brought the house down. This recording got some of the energy of that show but having seen EFO in a half a dozen other venues now I know there is still a lot more they could still capture. There's still nothing quite like seeing them live. I had hoped that "Hey Little Man", "Great Day" and "From Dacca" would have made it on but then again if I had it my way this could have easily been a 6 CD set. I liked that they included a version of "1000 Sarahs" where they jammed at the end - I was psyched at the Wolftrap when they did that. These live versions of "Let's Get Mesolithic", "Stupid American", "Old Dominion" and "Operator" simply rocked !! I too was wondering, like Joy, when I would hear some banter and was quite happy to finally hear it at the end of the second CD, though all strung together. I only wish they had sprinkled it in like in the portable EFO show which I personnaly think helps the flow - though I think I understand why they may have thought that it would help the flow instead, especially for newer fans who may not have seen them live. Perhaps on the next Live CD we can hear Robbie's story about Ethan wanting to become Santa Claus, or from Julie her story behind "Hey Little Man" and how her song for Liam didn't get the reaction from him she had hoped for. I'm already looking forward to their show in Boston in April at the Berklee and with any luck can see them in Northampton and BB Kings as well. - - dave Joy Elyse Greenwald wrote: Three Rooms arrived today (Thanks Patty!). I kinda liked the banter at the end of the 2nd Disc. I thought it was unique. And the sound quality is great for a live CD. Even sounded great in the mighty mighty Saturn. - jim raimo ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2003 22:19:44 -0500 From: "Scott & Trea McReynolds" Subject: got mine too Woohoo got mine too!! LOVE it have listened to it several times today!! The 3 year old loves it too!! the 12 year old is plotting how to snag it and the hubby... well I have hidden it from him ;) I'm on the fence about the banter track at the end. One personality loves it and finds it unique another personality would rather it tween the songs and the 3rd personality cries out cant we all just get along...... neh personality #1 has won out!!!! its a solid 3 minuet giggle and how can that be a bad thing???
