Despite what might have been said on this list, the site is absolutely NOT secure at this time. As mentioned before, the chances are very slim that anyone would get a hold of your credit card info...BUT it is possible. The BulletProof does not use SSL to encrypt the data (i.e. your credit card number!) across the internet. I'm sure once the data gets to the BulletProof server, it is perfectly safe, however, anyone that happens to know to look, could steal the data before it gets there. For anyone not aware, by the way, you can tell a site uses SSL by two things, a. The URL should start with https, rather than http, and b. the browser will indicate somewhere that it is a secure site (For IE, you will see a lock icon at the bottom right). I just wanted to make sure everyone knows the facts before giving out their info...and hopefully BulletProof will address this issue soon (I emailed them too). I'll just have to buy the CD at the next show I goto and coerce the band to sign it there! I wonder, if there are 511 orders, if they will sign 500 and just put the other 11 aside. ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Jan 2003 02:10:31 -0500 From: Buddy Brannan Subject: Re: three rooms!!! Greets from snowy Erie, PA...where EFO doesn't come...but it's nice anyway... Man. What rock have I been under? My life's been somewhat (shall we say) disorganized. Course, working for directory assistance (everyone, please be nice to directory assistance) and not having a real shift doesn't help, either. Seems all I do is delete Email anymore. Imagine, therefore, my elation at finding out that there's a new live album on the way! And a new Dar album too (I knew about that one though). What else have I missed?! Wow...to have a life again. BTW, if anyone asks me if I'd recommend my current job to my friends...I'd have to say that I wouldn't...I wanna keep my friends.
