Some of you probably already know them but figured I'd make the rest of you aware of them as a service. There are five band members as you would expect with individual ranges for bass, baritone, tenor, etc. The special talents however are that they can make all sorts of instrument sounds with just their own voices - drums, guitars, sax, trumpet etc making for a complete sound. One member, Wes Carroll, is especially noteworthy in his rendition of drums - he did a fabulous drum solo by himself which if you closed your eyes made you wonder where his set was. They also have a great stage presence, and had fun with audience all through the show. If you have a chance to take in a show give them a try - you'll like it. Check them out at http://www.housejacks.com/ Can't have a post though without EFO though - can't wait to see them next month at BB Kings in NYC, making the trip from Boston for it ... Also I'm leaning towards making it a longer roadtrip to go down to Virginia for the Staunton show as well. Saw them in Northampton,MA last month but now I need another fix ;-) - - dave ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Nov 2002 00:36:54 EST From: IMJVJ@aol.com Subject: EFO/Nields question I work as an assistant at a local theater in my town about 45 minutes north of NYC and they asked me for some suggestions for a show to put on and I instantly said EFO since theyve never really been around here and the theatre hasnt really had some good acoustic music recently. And since we have about 1000 seats I suggested a cobill with the Nields, so we might work on something like this I hope all of you will come to this show if we can pull it off scott ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Nov 2002 00:26:23 -0800 (PST) From: Steven Black Subject: Re: last night We were at the Greenville show, representing the Hokie crowd. We were a couple of the few in attendance that did "the Joe". We had several people ask what exactly it was that we were doing, so we did our part to educate them. I heard the "Cookin" thing, but although I have been an Edhead since pretty much the beginning(man do I miss Tuesdays at Bad Habits), I need someone to explain the meaning of it please. It was a great show and defenitely worth the nearly 16 hours spent in the car to get there and back home. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Nov 2002 21:00:50 -0800 (PST) From: johnathan vienneau Subject: Re: a little off-topic but of interest (rochester) - --- > > Back to lurking..... EFO PLEASE COME TO ROCHESTER > NY!!! > > Billy It's a long way off, but what about a stage at The East End Festival, or a spot at the Park Ave. Festival next year. If this city could just make it worth the bands while to visit us once, they might hopefully return at least once a year. All the fans in Rochester know the joy of travling 10 hours to catch a show. If it's not Rochester, Buffalo or Syracuse would suit me just fine. I repeat Billy's request...EFO PLEASE COME TO ROCHESTER, NY! (OR SOMEWHERE NEARBY). -Johnathan Yahoo!
