No EFO on stage (they were all in the audience, though), but a great show from Robbie. "Farewell To Saint Delores" is a Dave Carter song that Robbie said he requested at Dave's last show, also in Vienna. Hign points for me were the two songs he debuted in March: "Fly" and "Independence, Indiana" - can't wait for EFO versions of those. It was also the first time I saw his version of "Over The Hills And Far Away" - great stuff! 1. Number Six Driver 2. 30 Second Love Affair 3. Vincent 4. Bleecker To Broadway 5. No EFO on stage (they were all in the audience, though), but Inquiring minds want to know--do they sing along? :) Noticed "Farewell to St. Dolores" on the setlist, which reminded me--anyone have the Dave Carter tribute set from FRFF? I'd like a copy. - --nicole twn *** "It's probably a lot worse than it is."--from the Compendium of Rarely Used Cliches Visit www.nicolopolis.com ... digital nonsense for a weary world. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Aug 2002 18:03:29 EDT From: ImSerius2@aol.com Subject: robbie solo Just curious - would the 'Rusty Old American Dream' that Robbie was reported to have performed at Jammin' Java be the one written by David Wilcox? It's a great tune! I'd love to hear Robbie's cover of it, if it's one and the same. Someone posted to the Dar list that they hated EFO, that they'd seen them at Wolftrap, that half the audience left during the second song. I was miffed because I can't see how EFO could do a bad show. I wondered what he could be referring to about people leaving in the second song. That's all. I don't even know if the fellow had gone to the most recent Wolftrap show or some other one. Everyone who responded to my post seems to assume it was about the most recent show, but I'm not sure that it was at all, and the poster did not answer when I asked him that question. Sam Baker leaped to several wrong conclusions (1) I was not criticising EFO in the least (2) I was not trolling for a reaction (3) I have no idea what post I made about Quick. I don't recall ever criticising it. I had no reason to criticise it. (And as you say, Roxanne, so what if I did?) Mr. Baker seems to have some sort of problem. He sent me a rather nasty email off list because a week or so ago I posted something about an internet scam that he thinks is a hoax, and on another occasion I accidentally posted the same post twice. No one else contacted me about these things, so I assume only Mr. Baker was bothered. Why Mr. Baker gets bothered so easily I don't know. Now Mr. Baker assumes that I'm attacking EFO and that I attacked EFO last summer. That's all I have to say about Mr. Baker. Now, Roxanne, I have here an actual set list made by Robbie Schaefer for an EFO show at McCabes last fall. I wanted to give it to someone on the list who would like it. So, Roxanne, as a result of your wisdom and forthrightness, I'm offering it to you, if interested. Contact me off list.
