The first part obviously could just be one person's opinion, >but I can't imagine 1/2 the audience leaving at the beginning of a set >unless they were the tail end of a show where there were other acts that >people came to see. Anyone know anything about this?" Yes, actually, in fact I am still in physical therapy from the injuries I received when 3,000 people trampled me running out of Wolf Trap as I was trying to have a smoke on the concourse - oh the horror! oh the humanity! They even threw the new EFO can coozies at me as they ran over me (though those didn't hurt as much as their feet!) I need to purchase a new t-shirt, as the footprints didn't come out of mine (I still can't understand why some people were wearing cleats though!) If you honestly believe the show could be "terrible" and that 3,000 people would walk out, I've got a great bridge I'd like to sell you. If you are just trying to get a rise out of people by criticizing the band (much like you did last summer when "Quick" came out, as I recall), then I urge you to read the reviews of the show that were posted right after it (like the one Don Semmens re-posted) and get to get an ACCURATE account of the show. I'll just say this - EFO and Wolf Trap - perfect together! I'll just say > this - EFO and Wolf Trap - perfect together! Huh? What I took from Ron's original post was someone on another list criticized the show saying it was horrible and half the audience left during the second song and he was trying to get clarification over what actually happened. I thought he *was* trying to get an accurate account of the show. And what does Ron's review of Quick have anything to do with it? I honestly don't remember what he posted about it, but even if he hated it does that make him less of a fan because he didn't adore it? I didn't like it as much as their other cds, but I still love the band and still go see their live shows. Am I any less of a fan because I don't gush over every single thing they've done? Is there something going on here that I'm not seeing? If so, someone please let me in on the joke. - - rox ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Aug 2002 11:02:07 -0400 From: "D. As an 18 year WT employee, I just want to say that most of the acts bring their own sound people for the Filene Center but there is a separate, WT soundman who mixes the sound on the lawn. Since the configuration of each venue is unique, people who mix sound for that venue exclusively will generally do a better job than someone on the crew. Wolf Trap ALWAYS gives the option to let them (WT Employees) do the mixing but most bands trust their sound guys more. Just an FYI. Hi Ody. Yep, that's true. In other words, sit on the lawn -- the sound is almost always better.
