I heard they all got "regular" jobs or something, but they did recently play the DC Sessions on August 10 (along with Carbon Leaf). It was their first show in a VERY long time and I'm not sure when they're next show is...or if there'll even be one. As for me, my one real push is for Ari Hest (www.arihest.com ). I just saw him this past weekend in Roanoke, VA...he's just amazing. Anyway, upcoming shows may include 08.29 | Virginia Coalition-Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA) 09.03 | John Mayer-Dar Constitution Hall (Washington, DC) ??? 09.05 | Carbon Leaf-Baylee's (Blacksburg, VA) 09.06 | John Mayer-Brown's Island (Richmond, VA) 10.04 | Nickel Creek-Salem Civic Center (Salem, VA) 12.07 | Eddie from Ohio-Lyric Theatre (Blackburg, VA) ===== steven nero7997@yahoo.com http://filebox.vt.edu/users/stblack2/ http://verticalhorizonfaq.tripod.com/ HotJobs - Search Thousands of New Jobs http://www.hotjobs.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2002 09:13:07 -0400 From: Ellen Buckley Subject: Re: Jammin Java rockage - --- Shellyus@aol.com wrote: > so..yeah..i love it. which is why i travel 2 hours to see shows > there. > > kinda like ellen and the point. :) food's better at the point. ;) peace, ellen (letting her veg bias show) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Aug 2002 09:18:55 -0400 From: Ellen Buckley Subject: Re: Come on music lovers, wake up! In DC the first 300 people in line (in some towns it's been 200 some it's been 500) got the VIP section - the front of the floor roped off, then everyone else filled in behind. I'll admit it would have been cool to be right at the stage - but I'm 5'1" , and GA isn't in my vocab. We had seats near the stage, much more comfortable in my opinion. One cool this I did notice - the floor people were taken in a different entrance, througha tunnel and were not allowed up on the main concourse. So they had seperate bathrooms and vending and they even had a merch booth on the floor of the arena - how do I get that merch gig?! Jen >>Those Springsteen shows are insane. I did get a couple of shows in--filker Heather Alexander in June, the madmen of DVN in July, Aussie rockers Fruit[1] on the UCD Quad (THAT was a nice surprise)--but otherwise it's been kinda slow. In non-concert news (i.e. Nicole pads her social calendar), I'm going to catch the RCMP Musical Ride at the CA State Fair and the Tall Ships Festival in San Francisco. - --nicole twn [1] And they're at Philly Folk Fest, so check 'em out if you're going.
