They definitely won't allow you to tape at Wolf Trap in any way, shape, or form. Seriously, don't even bother to ask, because the answer will be no. Trust me... Will Foy wrote: Wolftrap doesn't allow any kind of taping actually. NO board taping or otherwise. I know b/c I tried to tape Everything, using their soundguy's feed a couple of year's back. Their engineer/soundguy Ryan Nichols and I go way back, he actually trained me to tape, and turned me onto EFO in '95 [ (e:) and EFO are both bands from JMU ], and I had a feed any time I needed it. Ryan archived every (e:) show from '91 on, and even HE was hassled by the staff at Wolf Trap about making a recording of the band that was part of his job! However! Depending on how EFO worked out things w/ the venue, you MAY be able to tape the show using mic's and your own deck, etc. Best bet is to contact the band in advance of the show, and see what they/Bob have worked out. Wolf Trap's standing policy though, is no taping. The Iron Horse is a great venue. Get there early and grab dinner. About an hour early is good. If possible, sit on the lower level, but even the balcony is good if you get a seat on the edge. I got a group of 10 people for the first show. The second show is slightly different. They try to mix it up and not do the same show. It is so much fun because a lot of us stay for the second show and the jokes get funnier and the band jams even more. The Iron Horse is my favorite venue for seeing EFO---it's small enough, intimate enough, it's got that great pressed tin ceiling, it's next to a store that sells things for spoiled dogs, and the food and wait staff are awesome. Plus the Western MA crowd is a winner. GO TO BOTH SHOWS, you won't be disappointed---get there early because there WILL be a line! She asked that I share the news with the list, to send you all her love, and asks that you say a prayer for Dave's safe passage into the next realm. I barely know what else to say.
