Setlist #6 omar i don't think i know me minnesota 1945 not enough gold in the world fifth of july 'this is a song about tomorrow...and SOOOO many yesterdays' woman of faith{for robbie's cotton candy pusher, helen :) } irish dream 1000 sarahs mesolithic cleo and tony{with the 'not fade away' intro}, which julie dedicated to the cutest pup there, guiness, an ADORABLE chocolate lab pup up front that i know - -we- at least were having a blast watching!! ~intermission~ star spangled banner old dominion ~tangent~ ok...this hasta go down as one of my favorite OD moments; sitting there in the blue ridges...looking down thru the valley, on a great evening with my friends and hearing my favorite efo song...so i got teary; sue me :) *resume* quick lifeguard stand{which went out to the schaefer boys and charlotte, maggie, and emma, julie's nieces, who all took advantage of the wintergreen pool earlier} fruited plain angel from montgomery{mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm} hey little man{which was for the youngest efo-crew baby, AJ mc nichols, who was there with her lovely mom, cathy and beautiful sister, caroline!} three fine daughters{with joe, his granddaughters, and noah schaefer doing the joe..albeit early, which his daughter noted from the stage } ok...when joe came up early, he realized it and they all sat down. in fresh mulch. and he was wearing white shorts. which was -far- too easy fodder for certain bassists. :) "in honor of the 4th of july, joe came all dressed in his wimbledon whites and then sat in fresh mulch up here. if i hadn'tknown that, i would have thought he needed undergarments. well, isn't that what in-DEPEND-ence day is about??"--mike bookends eddie's solo{at this point, everyone thought it acceptable to go stand in front of the stage. for the rest of the show. not like any of us who were SEATED wanted to be able to SEE the band..sorry....had to get that out} candido operator ENCORE this land is your land with JULIE MURPHY WELLS PLAYING GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -and- singing lead-. man, LUCKILY i sorta snuck into the mob and TRIED to get a few pictures of this...keep your fingers crossed that they turn out amidst the mob. she played mike's guitar, which he allowed her to do in exchange for getting to sing one of the 17 verses of the song. :) you all hate us now, don't you???!! well, i mean those of us that were there and saw it. it was truly fun folkin' history!!! julie rocks! america the beautiful. a wonderful show. a good time was had by all. great to see the jewels again!!!!! and of course, joe and kitty, cathy, caroline and AJ, mary, chuck, emma, charlotte, and maggie, john, helen, noah, ethan and owen, jen, and last but CERTAINLY not least, margaret, who just rocks the casbah! oh. and the band. they're pretty damn good, too. *wink* shelly ------------------------------ End of edheads-digest V5 #149 *****************************
