It's in a different direction, but here goes. My parents know that I love EFO and even asked me what my bumper sticker on my car means (EFO) like it was possibly a cult or something. They recently went to a funeral and they came home and said that the son of the person who had passed away had read some lyrics from the song "In Paradise." by that band Eddie of Ohio. I am a HUGE EFO fan, but this little gem had totally passed me by as it is buried at the end of the Juggler CD. The weird thing is my brother and sister-in-law lost their baby at the end of their full term pregnancy last month. This song has brought all of us so much comfort and ease after such a horrible event. Just when you think you know everything there is to know about their music, something new pops up. If you are looking for comfort about the death of a person, particularly a child. Also, "Oh, My Brother" has been very helpful for me too So, now maybe we could do Songs appropriate for a funeral? Actually, my Grandfather passed away in April after a long battle with cancer. Not to be irreverant, but I think EFO fans will understand that all weekend at the funeral I couldn't get "Very Fine Funeral" out of my head. Sorry to be so depressing, but that's been my life recently. And EFO has definitely helped me through my rough patch with their music. I think that's what's best about them. They can help you celebrate, mourn, laugh, be excited, feel everything. Susan S. P.S. And yes, I think Julie would kick butt also in the Celebrity Death Match. Sorry guys.Get more from the Web. When my grandfather died in the early 1970s, these Dylan lyrics were continually in my head: Grandpa died last week And now he's buried in the rocks, But everybody still talks about How badly they were shocked. But me, I expected it to happen, I knew he'd lost control When he built a fire on Main Street And shot it full of holes. Oh, Mama, can this really be the end, To be stuck inside of Mobile With the Memphis blues again. > Sorry to be so depressing, but that's been my life recently. Richard Hsu of DVN told me that he completely agrees - Julie would kick everybody's butt. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Jul 2002 02:25:41 GMT From: berkeleybush@juno.com Subject: Exter, PA show Here's the story: I have a friend here in Fungomery (yep, good ole Monkeytown) who is from Exter (Extor?), PA. When she went up there about a month ago to take care of her ailing mother, she saw Eddie From Ohio would be playing. "Wow!" she thought, "Eddie From Ohio is playing my little hometown. How many times has Berkeley gone on & on about them being his favorite band? I wish I could be here for it." Indeed, later as she was telling me the news of this discovery she told me that Exter's only other claim to fame was when one other "Big Name Star" played there. She even said that she would forsake her (head) injured mother to attend the concert (& lose her EFO Virginity). Alas, we will all be staying in Montgomery on the 2nd. Here's the appeal: If anyone boardtapes the show (yes, please), please get me a copy for her. This would be the perfect way to introduce her to the band we all know & love. If you would be willing to help make a new fan (her hubby will become one, too, so you'd really be multiplying the fan base by more than just one), please let me know if you boardtape the concert & would be willing to make a deal for a copy.
