Nigeria game just now, when ESPN were running the credits, they listed eddie from ohio (yes, it was in small letters). I watched the whole game, but didn't notice what song they played a piece of, it must have been when I went outside at halftime. Too cool, does anyone know what they played? It's nice they don't have a record company for stuff like that, because all the other credits I've seen just mention the record company (i.e.; sub-pop records). OK, now that Argentina have been eliminated, I can go back to bed ......... GO USA !!!!!!! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 07:55:19 -0400 From: tallwoods@earthlink.net Subject: Re: EFO in World Cup I believe the song was Bonnie Brook, apparently the Irish team liked the song, and wanted it played at their games. The band would probably be thrilled to know that their song was part of that broadcast. At the Lime Kiln show here in Virginia last Sunday, they actually made some comments/jokes about getting home ASAP after the show so that they could watch the U.S. play at 2:30 am in the morning. Since I have not seen any recaps posted of the Lime Kiln show, thought I would go ahead and post a few highlights. It was a great Sunday evening show. Started at 7:30. The Kiln is an outdoor venue cut out of a rock quarry where you sit in a small carved out area in the woods. The sound is great and the band even said that it is among their favorite places to play. Nature provided it's own music when during some quite moments of certain songs, you could hear birds chirping in the above trees. But the killer was during a pause in one of the songs, a cow in a nearby pasture let out a big mooo! It cracked up the band and the crowd. From there on the cow jokes just flowed from Julie saying that the cow was in perfect time, to Robbie saying that it was supposed to be in the key of F, to Mike rolling off a whole list of cow lines including "utterly" ridiculous, and "milking" the moment. You really had to be there. They made their usual JMU/ Va Tech/ UVA jokes and talked about their parents, whom most of where in the audience. This was the third of 3 shows in a row they had done since Friday and Julie was really missing her new baby. She saw someone in the audience that had an infant and she went to them and asked to hold the baby for a minute. She never missed a beat all night. What an awesome singer she is. Robbie broke a string at one point but kept going strong. I think they fixed it during Eddies great drum solo which sounded incredible bouncing off the rocks and trees. They brought on a guest harmonica player for a few songs and he was incredible. I apologize for not remembering his name. Our seats were right next to soundman Bob and he was gracious enough to share a few words with us. I saw him using his digital camera a lot, so I expect there will be some photos posted in the future. I once again converted 2 more EFO virgins into Edheads. Now they are hooked and will be going to Wolftrap with 2 more virgins, and so on and so on! All in all, it was just another very well done show by the band. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 09:16:36 EDT From: Shellyus@aol.com Subject: Re: EFO in World Cup ok..at first i was picturing julie, mike, eddie, robbie, and bob playing soccer in the competition and was WAY confused{if not amused} but yay Bonny Brook!!! that kicks arse!!!! now if only chevy would pick up 'old dominion' for their commercials since they've re-issued the impala, the band would be set. :) shelly ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 12 Jun 2002 08:36:37 -0500 From: Dave Read Subject: Re: EFO in World Cup FWIW, at the Houston show they mentioned that ESPN had picked up one of their songs...they said it was "Irish Dream." A quick side note for folks who sent me CDs to copy the Houston and Austin shows for them: my CD writer died an untimely death last week, which is why I haven't gotten your discs back to you. I have bought a replacement and will be getting the discs in the mail within the next couple of days... D At 04:40 AM 6/12/2002 -0400, Hovis, Lonnie wrote: >At the end of the England v.
