I'm Jen and I'm rather new to this crazy little list, so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm an Edhead in MN (born in Virginia, though!) who has never heard EFO live and is going crazy living with that fact. I first discovered EFO when singing in a cabaret at Minneapolis' Loring Playhouse. We sang Quick and I was hooked. I'm a diehard follower now and I'm determined to make them the most popular band in the good ol' Minnesota tundra. I just performed Quick again tonight, and I'm working on my own halfway decent rendition of Stupid American now. I sing and I want to be Julie. Anyway, I think that's enough for y'all to ponder for now....can't wait to meet you all on the next cruise! Well, I do distinctly remember, when in NYC in March of 2001, and wandering around Greenwich Village, getting a great big Edhead thrill when I turned a corner and realized I was on Bleecker Street. And although it's not EFO-related, I know there's a lotta Fru-heads on this list...the last time I was in Windsor, Ontario, I stopped in my tracks and cracked up when I saw the Pizza,Pizza on the corner - wondering if the King of Spain really WAS working there.... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 09:53:26 -0400 From: "Bertram Tunnell" Subject: Re: ridiculous or not.... Ha. I've got a funny one along the lines of going somewhere because of an EFO song. Being the local NYC Edhead, I am not all that familair with Virginia. This past weekend I came down to D.C. to celebrate my great Aunt's 90th birthday (no, her name is not Sarah). A friend of mine picked me up afterwords, and the next day we drove an hour south to go hiking in a state park down in Virginia. I of course can not remember the bloody name of it, so I emailed her asking where we hiked. She responded, "I don't know...I'll ask Lisa...but it was in the Blue Ridge Mountains." I practically fell out of my chair. I was in the Blue Ridge Mountains? Good lord! It was true, the Rockies have got nothing on them! - - Bert (who two days ago saw "Oh Brother where art thou" and has a new respect for the song he already loved, "Down by the river to pray" _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 09:56:48 -0400 From: "Bertram Tunnell" Subject: Re: Hello! Ok...quick one (give me a break...I hardly ever write...it just happens I have something to say about two emails...) Jen, three friends and I recently performed, "Hey Little Man" at a cabaret...and it nearly brought down the house...so I understand what you mean. Of course, we did it with two women and two men...so we cheated. ;p _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 10:13:21 -0400 From: "John Ryan" Subject: Re: Hello! On the same vein, I performed O My Brother for my grandfather's retirement community last Monday in Florida. Being Memorial Day, it felt appropriate. The song worked too, I got a few seconds of silence when the song was finished. EFO's music is truly special. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bertram Tunnell" To: Sent: Friday, May 31, 2002 9:56 AM Subject: Re: Hello! > Ok...quick one (give me a break...I hardly ever write...it just happens I > have something to say about two emails...) > > Jen, three friends and I recently performed, "Hey Little Man" at a > cabaret...and it nearly brought down the house...so I understand what you > mean. > > Of course, we did it with two women and two men...so we cheated. > > ;p > > _________________________________________________________________ > Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. > http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 31 May 2002 21:28:51 -0500 From: "Jen Rueben" Subject: Re:Re:Hello I performed Hey Little Man in the same cabaret as Quick. I'm looking to do Oh My Brother for something soon....it's another of my favorites. Do any of you happen to have an arranged and notated copy of that? Or of Stupid American? I'm looking for all the vocal harmonies. They're difficult to rip off the CDs!
