Y'know, it might interest to see how the top 20 picks correlate to whether you're in the pro-Concubine or anti-Concubine camp? Hmmmm, something to think about.... 1. From Dacca 2. Bleecker to Broadway 3. Twenty Thousand Hearts 4. Atlantic 5. How Far to the Water 6. Candido & America 7. 5th of July 8. Sahara 9. Stupid American 10. If I Had a Boat 11. Abraham 12. "Intimate" is the best word to describe the Duck, although it's bigger than the Cactus Cafe, where they're playing on Saturday. Great show, with performances of many of my favorite EFO tunes including Three Fine Daughters, North Pacific Rain, One, and more. I made some requests during the set break, but it seems that everything I requested was old and in need of practice. Oh well. It can't hurt to ask, right? :) Out of interest in the live version, I *did* ask for Eddie's Concubine but they didn't get to it. Bob was a champion, and now I have a great tape of the second set. Why only the second set, you ask? Long story, but sum it up as "pilot error." Bob has offered to let me copy from his DAT of the first set if I show up early on Saturday, so that's the plan. More after Saturday's show... D ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 May 2002 12:11:51 -0400 From: Beth Simons Subject: Re: top 20 i had observation as #7!!!! I'll put on "Great Day" or "Hey Little Man" and do the Julie head tosses -- I can pretty much tell now, at shows, what song is coming up by the way Julie carries herself. If the hands are starting to go a certain way, it's a good sign that "Quick" is up next. She has certain movements for certain songs -- it's fun to watch. ("Great Day" usually starts with her hands in a triangle in front of her -- same with "Oh My Brother") Has anyone else noticed that she looks a tad bit like Charlotte on Sex & The City? I'm curious, too, not just about the "concubines" v. the "non-concubines" -- but around our house, it's the mike v. robbie songs. I'm partial to robbie songs -- I'm thinking of going back and seeing if there's really a trend -- people tending to lean more towards one or the other.... - - erika (who's starting to think she should find other hobbies, her efo obsession is starting to scare the people who love her) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 May 2002 13:09:23 -0400 From: "John Ryan" Subject: Re: becoming julie But we all know after the Bowery Ballroom show that Eddie writes the best songs!!!! - ----- Original Message ----- From: erika-renee lanier To: Ed Heads Sent: Friday, May 10, 2002 12:51 PM Subject: becoming julie > *grin* > > I do that when I'm driving to work.
