More seating capacity than McCabes but not quite as much as HOB. I saw David Wilcox there a few years back. The only negative I have with that place though is that they serve food during the show. Something about having to listen to the guy next to you scarf down a burger takes the magical touch off of good music. I recently got my mom addicted to efo. she went out and bought Quick, but I started realizing she was missing out on some of the more essential stuff -- in my mind, songs like "This is My Town" and "Woman of Faith" are must-haves. If you had to put together a collection of the most definitive, essential efo songs (about 10-12) -- what would you insist be included? (why?) - -erika ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 03 May 2002 10:31:55 -0400 From: Mark Lindeman Subject: Re: the definitive efo collection? Oops, I meant to send this to the list, but just sent it to Erika instead. There were some really interesting posts in the thread last fall (like one that tried to categorize must-have live songs and studio recordings separately). - -------------------------------------- Erika, More or less this question came up last year (favorite songs, not necessarily "definitive collections"), and here's a post that Liam Sullivan sent on October 1 that synopsizes the results. I hope that I'm misunderstanding you, but it sounds like you're suggesting that policemen aggressively preventing drunk driving is disgusting. I'd have to whole-heartedly disagree. While it may perhaps be annoying to the sober guy who also gets followed and tested, I think the benefits far outweigh the annoyances to a few people. I would much rather have a policeman stop a drunk driver before he's driven 5 feet than after he's driven 5 miles and into the car of an innocent victim. I think that more policemen should be doing things like this. Your average intoxicated joe-schmoe is much more likely to do the responsible thing and call a cab if he knows there's a policeman waiting outside the door. That is a very good thing. Like I said, I hope I'm just misunderstanding you, but I had to speak up. I've never lost anyone to drunk driving before, but I'm scared to death that someday I might. > > HOB is really slimey, i have to agree with Ron on this one. ;) > This I will definitely agree with, however. I try to avoid the overcrowded, atmosphereless HOB in Boston as much as possible. I'd much rather continue to see EFO in places like the Iron Horse and Club Passim. =) My first EFO show was at Club Passim and boy was it amazing! I shudder to think of HOB in comparison. - -Chris > Jess > > ----Original Message Follows---- > From: "Ron Rosen" > To: > Subject: Re: CA Edheads: Fall tour > Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 06:30:47 -0700 > > > The Roxy in Hollywood is also a possible venue.
