I'm flying into FLL ... I would be more than willing to share a cab ... i have kind of a silly flight - 10:30 on Monday. I'm worried I'm not going to be able to make the flight. Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2002 16:45:46 -0400 Hi all, Got mom and dad to postpone the first family-wide vacation in 11 years to August, so I am goin' on the cruise with a happy heart. Except at this late date, I had to fly into Fort Lauderdale instead of Miami. Anyone else flying to FLL instead of MIA? If so, I am looking to hitch a ride one way or another, and am happy to pay rental car fees and gas. Thanks! THA CRUISE IS GOING TO ROCK! WOO HOO! YEE HAW! It was 90 degrees here on Wednesday, an earthquake struck on Saturday, and it's fixin to snow tonight. I cannot WAIT for the Bahamas. I have a distinct memory of before her set a bunch of rude fans taking over our blanket and then yelling at us (Nicole- am I remembering this correctly?) I don't know, I find the years where it's "smaller" (hah!) acts are more mellow and fun. But she is amazing. Being currently unemployed, I look forward to crashing on boat and not thinking about the economy. I've had a rough day today, so I guess I'm looking for evil where there isn't any. Folk artists generally are very nice people, and are truthful in what they say. Sorry if I meant ill will to Dar, I certainly didn't mean that. - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Monday, April 22, 2002 4:18 PM Subject: Re: FR artists > with all due respect, i think you might be looking for a motive that isnt there. dar has been a staple at FRFF for years now. she did an interview a few weeks ago for the web owner of www.darwilliams.net (a very complete and terrific guide to jsut about all things dar) and gail (the site owner) was the one who told dar she wasnt going to be at FRFF. dar hadnt heard otherwise. i also spoke with dar after her shows at club passim last wednesday, and while she had been surprised that she wasnt going to be at FRFF, she understood, and from what i could gather, looks forward to next year. obviously, i have no idea what the thought process was at her booking agent, but given anne's post to the dar list about the fest, i dont see much reason to believe that dar was trying to cover herself and make sure she was at least working somewhere that weekend. > > amy p. > > Original Message: > ----------------- > From: John Ryan jjrrutgers@hotmail.com > Date: Mon, 22 Apr 2002 14:50:54 -0400 > To: edheads@efohio.com > Subject: Re: Re: FR artists > > > So I guess this means FRFF 2003 will be a killer! > > Although, there could be a half-truth in the statement that she wanted to > give her regulars a year off, along with other artists. It was my first time seeing DVN and they were amusing and fun, and having them join efo for Candido and America and then on the encore was great! The Duke Family Performance Hall where they played was brand new and efo was actually the first concert in their series of shows that they are going to put on. They had cleared out the box seats on the sides of the stage for dancing, and we danced! it was great to be able to dance at a show also the night before at the handlebar was also amazing, did anyone happen to tape this show? I am really interested in getting a copy of it. I liked the new handlebar and the whole show was fun and full of excitment.
